Peeping Tom Thinks He's Found Perfect Victim, Then Her NFL Dad Walks up Behind Him
This dad didn’t hold back when it came to protecting his family.
The Miami Herald reports that a man was arrested on Monday morning after he was caught looking into a 14-year-old girl’s window, allegedly while masturbating.
What Geoffrey Cassidy, the alleged Peeping Tom, didn’t realize was that the girl’s father is former NFL defensive cornerback Tony Beckham.
According to the Miami Herald, Beckham was walking to his car outside his house when he saw Cassidy crouching in the bushes outside of his daughter’s window.
Beckham told deputies that Cassidy’s pants were down and he was “making a motion consistent with masturbating.”
Beckham was having none of that. He yelled at Cassidy, who ran away in fear. But professional athlete Beckham ran after him and tackled him while a neighbor called the police.
Beckham was fighting with Cassidy when a deputy arrived on scene. Once Beckham saw the officer, he disengaged and told him what had happened, the Miami Herald says.
At this point, Cassidy had been thoroughly roughed up and was taken to a nearby medical facility in handcuffs.
He was found to have gotten a fractured cheekbone and eye socket out of his Peeping Tom excursion.
The suspect claims that he was in the bushes outside of Beckham’s house because his car had broken and he was waiting for it to “cool down.” However, he refused to tell police where his car was.
Cassidy was then arrested on the charge of lewd and lascivious exhibition.
He was released on a $1,500 bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim or her family. He was also ordered to stay away from the neighborhood where Beckham’s family lives.
Cassidy’s next court date is set for Feb. 13.
According to WPEC-CBS12, Beckham says his daughter and her sister are both traumatized from the experience. The 14-year-old victim had just showered and was getting dressed at the time the crime took place.
“They was crying, they’re scared,” Beckham said. “They all slept in the room with me last night.”
Protecting your kids is every parent’s responsibility. Police officers are brave men and women who help keep ordinary citizens safe, but they aren’t everywhere, all the time.
It’s crucial for Americans to know how to defend themselves and their families should the need arise.
Luckily for his daughters, Beckham’s training made him excellently prepared for dealing with a criminal until the authorities showed up. Good for him for defending his family.
