90-Year-Old Granny Shows Her Love of Whitney Houston with Dazzling Dance Moves

Share

Sometimes my kids say things that make me feel just plain outdated. When I had to ask my daughter recently exactly what “dabbing” meant, I certainly felt a little behind the times.

Youth is something that inevitably fades. There seems to be a dark cloud around every decade these days.

I remember when I turned 30 and one of my younger family members asked me how it felt to be “over the hill.” Of course I gawked — since when did 30 become the new “over the hill?”

But the silver lining is that we are as young or old as we behave. I will wear Converse shoes until the day I die, so I guess that makes me 18, right?

One 90-year-old grandmother has taken the internet by storm with her hip dance moves.

After Whitney Houston passed in 2012, her legacy lived on, and many paid tribute to the singer across social media.

But I’d say Jeanne Harr outshined them all when she asked her grandson, Adam Forgie, to film her tearing up the floor to the beat of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”

When the music came on, Harr didn’t let her age stop her from twisting and grooving.

I just love her attitude — she clearly didn’t care what anyone thought as she danced in memory of one of her favorite singers.

“I’m doing this in memory of the late Whitney Houston,” Harr said. “It’s very hard to think of her as being gone.”

Doesn’t she just want to make you get up and move with her? The best part is when her grandson joins her, even though the disclaimer in his video read, “I am not a dancer… obviously.”

He seems so happy just to enjoy those moments with his granny. When he kept her from falling, it warmed my heart.

This video is the perfect reminder for us all. No matter how old we get, we always have the choice to enjoy life and maybe even “dance with somebody who loves” us.
