95-Year-Old Hits Huge Milestone, Officially Makes 500 Quilts for Newborns in Need

Share

It’s quite something to watch someone dedicate their time and energy to serving others. Some people are simply saints.

These special folks have hearts of gold and willing souls. They care nothing for themselves. Their only concern has to do with helping another in need.

This describes 95-year-old Jack Morrow perfectly. The man has spent hours upon hours doing one thing alone.

His story is amazing. With more energy and commitment than some people half his age, Morrow has made it his mission to provide something special for babies in need.

“Give me a project to do and I won’t stop until it’s done,” Morrow told Star Tribune. The man’s telling the truth, too.

For the past several months, Morrow committed himself to long hours and busy days. He was determined to reach a specific goal by the time he reached his 95th birthday on Aug. 10.

Morrow has been making newborn quilts for many years. Despite the fact that he’s probably beat plenty of quilt-making records, this simply wasn’t good enough for the dedicated man.

500 was his lucky number and Morrow worked hard to reach it. His strong will and determination paid off. Just days prior to his birthday, Morrow completed his 500th project. The blanket was donated to Bundles of Love.

“We are a volunteer driven non-profit that partners with community organizations to assist Minnesota families in need by providing handmade items for newborns,” the charity’s website reads.

Morrow’s lovely wife Jackie is to thank for her husband’s late-life obsession. Seven years ago she encouraged her husband to join a quilting club to keep himself busy.

While Morrow had no sewing experience, he decided to go for it. Soon he found his new passion. And so his journey began.

But he didn’t stop with his own donations. Morrow posted a special request on Facebook, asking friends and family to donate to Bundles of Love for his birthday.

“For my birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to Bundles of Love Charity,” he wrote on his fundraiser page. “I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me…”

What a sweet man with a big heart. No doubt his handmade blankets are loved and appreciated by all who receive them.
