Judge issues massive sentence to Larry Nassar, follows up with a brutal insult

Disgraced serial molester and former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison Wednesday.

This concludes a weeklong saga where more than 150 victims of Nassar testified against him for sexually abusing them.

Nassar, 54, was effectively dealt a life sentence by Judge Rosemarie Aquilina considering he had already been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison on child pornography charges in December.

For her part, Aquilina was justifiably incendiary with her comments as she sentenced Nassar.

Before the sentence was handed down, Aquilina had a heated exchanged with Nassar before leveling a vicious insult.

“Would you like to withdraw your plea?” Aquilina asked Nassar

“No, your honor,” Nassar said.

“Because you’re guilty, aren’t you?” Aquilina said with noticeable scorn.

“I accept my plea,” he said.

Aquilina expressed doubt over the sincerity of his contriteness before insulting him, saying, “I wouldn’t send my dogs to you, sir.”

When it came time to hand down her sentence, Aquilina was not one iota more sympathetic.

“It is my honor and privilege to sentence you. You do not deserve to walk outside a prison ever again,” the judge said. “You have done nothing to control those urges and anywhere you walk, destruction will occur to those most vulnerable. …

“I just signed your death warrant.”

Nassar did get a chance to respond to his victims before the sentencing.

“Your words these past several days have had a significant emotional effect on myself,” Nassar said. “I will carry your words with me for the rest of my days.”

Nassar seemed apologetic.

Incredulously, however, he also penned a letter claiming that the media sensationalized stories of his abuse and that he was forced to admit his actions were sexual in order to get a plea deal.

Just as a reminder, Nassar admitted to penetrating minors with ungloved hands.

“I was a good doctor,” he claimed in his letter.

Needless to say, Nassar is a despicable monster who deserves no remorse, particularly in light of his pathetic defense of himself.
