Steelers' Antonio Brown zings Tom Brady with the perfect offer

With 505 passing yards and three touchdowns, Tom Brady has nothing to be ashamed about with his performance in Super Bowl LII.

He set a record for most passing yards in any postseason game and now holds the top two spots for most passing yards in any Super Bowl (last year’s Super Bowl is the other).

Yes, he was stripped of the ball late in the fourth quarter and the Patriots didn’t win, which also means that Brady tied John Elway and Fran Tarkenton for second-most Super Bowl losses (three) and he’s just one behind Jim Kelly. But Brady shouldn’t hang his head regarding his performance as a quarterback Sunday.

However, you can’t say the same regarding his performance as a receiver.

Perhaps the play people will remember most from the Patriots offense is the one that wasn’t made, and that was the incomplete pass to Tom Brady.

Patriots haters took pleasure in seeing Brady come up inches short of making the catch. Social media was full of jokes regarding the play.

Others suggested that Brady wasn’t quite pliable enough to stretch for the catch, poking fun at his training method, which places an emphasis on pliability over weights.

Among those was jabbing Brady was the Steelers’ Antonio Brown.

In an Instagram post Monday, the superstar receiver invited Brady to train with him this offseason.

He asked former teammate James Harrison, now with the Patriots, to “tell your guy [Tom Brady] I know he lost his trainer so if he want to get those hands right [hit me up] this off season!”

The comments section on his post was filled with Patriots fans throwing jabs right back at Brown and reminding him that he was watching the game from home.

One fan claimed that with that play Brady has more Super Bowl targets than Brown, which is funny but not true: Brown was a rookie when the Steelers lost to the Packers in Super Bowl XLV and had one reception (on three targets) for one yard.

For the record, Brady does have two career receptions, with both coming in the regular season. If he would have caught that pass in the Super Bowl, then he would have passed Jerry Rice as the oldest player to have a reception in a Super Bowl.

On the flip side, Brown has five passing attempts in his career with three completions. He’s thrown for one touchdown and one interception while also being sacked twice.

These two practicing together would be fun to watch, but don’t hold your breath on seeing it happen.

The next time Brady and Brown will share a field will come next season. The Patriots and Steelers are both AFC division winners so they are guaranteed to face each other.
