Watch: Yankees star launches the most massive home run of spring training

Share

Don’t forget about me!

With all the hype about the Yankees acquiring Giancarlo Stanton to team up with Aaron Judge and the two biggest bats in all of baseball, it’s easy to overlook some of the other “Baby Bombers.”

That includes Gary Sanchez, who, in case you forgot, has 53 home runs in not even a season and a half.

The catcher showed his wares Wednesday with his first homer of the spring … and he made it count.

Sanchez stepped to the plate against Detroit’s Daniel Norris in the first inning, New York already leading 2-0.

Wow.

For his part, Norris decided not to check out his handiwork.

Is this the biggest hit you've seen yet this spring?

Good for him, at least the pitcher won’t be traumatized.

We’re pretty sure that nobody will be forgetting about Sanchez.

He had 33 home runs last year, to team up with Stanton’s 59 and Judge’s 52.

The three men battled each other in the Home Run Derby during All-Star week, but we get the feeling that the new Derby might be happening on a nightly basis at Yankee Stadium this season.

Throw in Didi Gregorius’ 25 bombs, Brett Gardner’s 21, and the untapped potential of first baseman Greg Bird, and it seems like a safe bet that New York will surpass its 2017 total of 241 home runs.

The only question may be whether they do so by the All-Star break.
