Entire US men's curling team combines for the most disastrous first pitch in recent memory
Ceremonial first pitches in Major League Baseball can be a bit of an adventure. You’re never quite sure what you’re going to get.
But let’s be honest, the most memorable ones are always the bad ones, of which there are a lot.
Enter the U.S. men’s curling team, who won the gold medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The five curlers all threw the first pitch before the Twins’ home opener against the Mariners on Thursday.
It was a combination of bad, dangerous and hilarious.
I can't stop watching the gif of the gold medal-winning US Olympic curling team throwing out the first pitches at the Twins home opener. It's the most inspiring thing I've ever seen. I'd read an oral history about this. pic.twitter.com/7FWhRZ6wO9

You just can’t stop watching it.
The Olympians — Joe Polo, John Shuster, Tyler George, Matt Hamilton and John Landsteiner — lined up from left to right to throw a pitch at the same time to five different Minnesota catchers.
There was so much going on that you have to watch one pitch at a time.
The two guys on the ends — Polo and Landsteiner — did fine, throwing the ball to their respective catchers.
Here's @TeamShuster throwing out the first pitch at the @Twins home opener today. Not sure where @tgeorge1323 was aiming. Loved the "curl pitch" from @MattJamilton. Video courtesy of @fsnorth. pic.twitter.com/MFUKNHQe7m

A couple of the guys in the middle, on the other hand, struggled to find their battery mates. Schuster, who’s second from the left, threw it wide right and almost hit the guy who was catching Polo.
George, who was in the middle, also went wide right and nearly hit the catcher for Schuster. He had to duck and cover.
But Hamilton, second from the right, had the right idea. He rolled it down on the grass to the catcher, almost like he was pushing a rock in curling. It was funny, appropriate and on target.
Play to your strengths!
It wasn’t quite as bad the Kardashians throwing out the first pitches a few years back for the Dodgers, but it’s up there in the annals of hilarious ceremonial first pitches.
Gold medal-winning snowboarder Red Gerard, 18, had a little better time of it throwing out the first pitch for the Indians on Friday.
His mechanics need some work, but at least he reached the catcher.
