Harbaugh responds after ex-player calls out coach with series of violent tweets
While most coaches are prepping for spring practice during this time of the year, Jim Harbaugh is having to deal with menacing tweets seemingly directed at him by a former Michigan player.
Elysee Mbem-Bosse left the football team in November due to a family crisis per The Detroit News.
Over the past week, Mbem-Bosse posted several tweets referencing guns and violence apparently directed at Harbaugh and called him a “f—ing” clown.

On Wednesday, he sent tweets to Harbaugh asking about his status on the football team.

Harbaugh was asked about the situation during a clinic with Detroit high school coaches on Thursday night.
“It’s a serious matter,” he told The Detroit News. “I’m confident our administration and university officials will take the proper steps and are taking the proper steps.”
Harbaugh was then asked if he felt threatened by the tweets.
“That’s all I’m going to say about it,” he said.
Mbem-Bosse is still enrolled at Michigan, but athletic director Warde Manuel confirmed he is no longer with the football team. Earlier this week Manuel said he felt concerned for the well-being of Mbem-Bosse regardless of whether he’s a student-athlete.
“Won’t comment on any of the pending investigation,” Manuel said Wednesday. “Always concerned with anything that pops up about a threat and also concerned about him and where he is as a student.
“We care about all the student-athletes we have whether they’re on the team currently or not and so concerned on both ends.”
The deputy chief for the University of Michigan told The Detroit News that the investigation is ongoing and that Mbem-Bosse has not done anything illegal as of yet.
“While there has been no crime committed at this stage, we will continue to assess the situation,” Melissa Overton said in a statement.
Mbem-Bosse was a four-star linebacker in the Class of 2016 and played in seven games as a freshman. He then played four games in 2017 before departing the team.
