Redskins CB Josh Norman Calls Out Opponent for 'Maximum Disrespect' During Game
Redskins cornerback Josh Norman likes to celebrate interceptions or big plays by shooting an imaginary bow and arrow.
But if an opponent does the same celebration as a way to taunt the former All-Pro, then Norman calls it “maximum disrespect.”
That’s exactly what happened after the Titans victory over Washington on Saturday.
While Norman was sitting on the bench, Titans’ tackle Taylor Lewan came over to Washington’s sideline and taunted Norman with his own celebration.

Lewan said that he approached Norman because the cornerback allegedly tried to hurt Derrick Henry during a drive.
“I’m not worried about Josh Norman, man. I’m an offensive lineman; he’s a DB,” Lewan told ESPN on Saturday.
“I don’t even know who that is. I was pissed — he was trying to hurt Derrick Henry during that four-minute [drive]. That’s not the way football is supposed to be played, man. It’s not our fault you’re not relevant anymore.
“He tackled him, and it was like a temper tantrum. I was trying to get Derrick up, and he’s throwing a hissy-fit, going low at him and stuff like that.”
Norman did not speak to the media after Saturday’s game and finally addressed the incident on Wednesday.

“For a relevant player, it’s kind of crazy — if you are that relevant. Why would you come to another man’s sideline?” Norman told NBC4 Sports.
“And then after you won a game, you pick fun at the player that is irrelevant. You go out of your way to come to his bench, his sideline, to go at him in that kind of way.
“Maximum disrespect. Ultimate disrespect. We’re not having it. We will not tolerate disrespect. That’s zero tolerance for that. That was the ultimate disrespect. You just don’t do that.”
Norman said he and Henry talked after the game and everything is cool between the two of them. But everything is clearly not cool between Norman and Lewan.
“How can someone hurt someone who’s 265 pounds?” Norman said about Henry. “What [Lewan] should have been worried about is his quarterback, because of how our line ran through him like rocks — like water through rocks. Gosh, you would think he’d be doing a better job protecting him than worried about a running back who’s 260 pounds. Don’t make an excuse. Be a man.”
Saturday’s loss virtually eliminated the Redskins’ shot at the playoffs and outcomes from the following day did officially eliminate Washington.
The Titans are still alive for a wildcard spot and they’ll have a win-and-in game with the Colts on “Sunday Night Football.”
