News Anchors Lose it On Air After They Eat Co-Worker's Disastrous Holiday Dip
We’ve all been in the uncomfortable situation where we’ve had to mask our disgust over a homemade dish. Nobody wants to embarrass the cook or show ungratefulness when being served a meal, despite how bad it may be.
There is enough pressure to act pleased with a meal in front of one’s own family and friends. What about if your first bite of an awful dish was aired on live television?
Global News Calgary anchors found themselves in a similarly awkward yet hilarious situation. Traffic reporter Leslie Horton brought artichoke dip that she made for her colleagues to try on live television.
The team on this Canadian news station had been sharing their favorite holiday treats on the air for the past week.
It was Horton’s turn to share a dish, but even she did not seem too confident about serving it.
She began her presentation of the dish by holding it up and saying, “Yeah, it’s not supposed to look like that.” That phrase is never a good sign to those waiting to sample the dish!
Horton was not too enthusiastic about making a holiday dish to share in the first place. It was her family that urged her to take the time to make something.
Horton made sure to explain that this awful dip recipe was sent to her by her family. As she explained the dish and the reason why she made it, her colleagues can be seen staring at the dish with slight fear at the idea of actually trying it.
Horton even brought fruitcake that she explained would be a good representative of her favorite holiday treat, but made the dip thanks to her family’s encouragement.
Before anyone took their first bites, Horton gave a final warning that she knew the recipe did not work out.
As the news anchors took their first bites, it was confirmed that this artichoke dip definitely did not turn out well!
The brave anchors who tried the dip went from politely chewing, to laughing, and then to gagging.
Everyone, including Horton, wondered what went so terribly wrong with the dip. Horton questioned her colleagues, “Do you think maybe the artichokes are off? I didn’t have a lemon so I just cut up an orange. I didn’t know what spices to put in so I put in celery, salsa, and oregano in it.”
Artichoke dip may not be the first appetizer you decide to eat after watching the hilarious video of the news anchors trying the disgusting dip.
