Entire HS Dance Team Dresses in Cow Costumes for Viral Competition

For competitive dance teams, it can be a task to come up with something new and creative, a routine that’s never been done before.

The particular dance I am about to share has gone completely viral.

A whopping 12 million views has taken this routine to a whole new level, and it even earned the highest novelty score at a competition.

Meet the Hallsville High School Bobcat Belles. These girls may appear to be your ordinary high school dance team, but don’t let those golden pom poms fool you.

While this team is known as the Grand Champion of its super division, there’s more to them than meets the eye. At least that’s what they proved when they showed up to their dance competition wearing Chick-fil-A cow mascot costumes.

“I’ve laughed about this for hours this week,” someone commented on Facebook. “Bravo!!! Thank you for making my day! #eatmorchikin,” another said.

These girls are hilarious as they tiptoe and shimmy across the gym floor to songs such as a Chick-fil-A version of “Yesterday” by the Beatles, “Proud to be a Cow” from Sesame Street, and even “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” from “Dirty Dancing.”



Kathryn Calaway, the team’s dance instructor, shared her excitement and pride in an interview. “Super hard-working group. I feel honored to work with them,” she said.

“It kinda blew up!” she added. “So I was like forget it, go ahead and share away.”

I’m voting that this routine be made the new Chick-fil-A television commercial. A good laugh at the dancing livestock will certainly encourage restaurant-goers to “Eat Mor Chikin.”

And even if this doesn’t become the next big television ad, some believe the Belles ought to at least get their share of free chicken. “I think they should be sponsored by Chick-fil-A for life,” Chelsey Hess, a Bobcat Belle mom, noted.

Free chicken or not, this team is certainly going down in viral video history. If you happen to be in Galveston, Texas, later this month, you can cheer them on in the Showtime International competition March 24 and 25.
