After much speculation about what the sex of the baby would be, it was confirmed that Kate had given birth to a happy and healthy baby boy, weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces.
The new prince will be fifth in line to the throne. He is now Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh’s sixth great-grandchild.
The royal baby is welcomed by older brother George, age 4, and older sister Charlotte, age 2.
Besides it being St. George’s Day, the prince shares his birthday with William Shakespeare and Lady Gabriella Windsor, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.
As of the posting time of this article, the name of the new baby has not been released. We will continue to update it as new information is released.
