Cop's Hilarious Video of K9 Officer Proof Even Dogs Don't Want To Go to Work Some Days

Share

Some people love their jobs; some people aren’t quite so delighted. Others mainly want to keep putting food on the table, all sentiments aside.

But no matter how we regard our current occupation, there’s one universal feeling everybody understands. On certain days — especially early in the week — it’s just plain tough to go to work.

Maybe we were up late watching our favorite team in the playoffs. Maybe we ran out of bread, forcing a frantic scramble of last-minute ingenuity to get the kids’ lunches made.

Or just maybe, we simply crave a few blessed moments of extra peace and relaxation. That might mean hitting the snooze button … or, if you’re a dog named Jango, it could mean holding out for an extended belly rub.

Maryland resident Cassie Costin recently captured Jango on camera, and the resulting video is earning empathetic chuckles across social media. Specifically, Costin decided to film her husband, Ryan, trying to get his reluctant canine in the car.

Jango isn’t merely one of those private citizen pups, mind you. He’s officially K9 Police Dog Jango Fett, and Officer Ryan Costin is his human partner.

This dedicated pair works at the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s office, in nearby Annapolis. And on the particular day in question, Jango was fine with starting his beat — but darn it, he wanted that belly rub first.

So the determined dog simply reclined on the grass, tail patiently thumping away, while Cassie Costin provided some highly amusing narration.

“Jango just lays flat on the ground,” she laughed, “and it’s only Tuesday!”

This single-minded, “delayed Monday blahs” negotiation continued for nearly two minutes, with Officer Ryan bemusedly shrugging nearby. At one point, Jango faked everyone out by sitting up — but it was only a crafty tactic to get what he was truly after.

Ultimately, the good-natured policeman gladly complied. He stooped down to scratch Jango’s tummy, and the committed canine then happily hopped into the vehicle.

Twitter went wild over this decidedly “dogged” show of determination. Most agreed that this faithful furry companion deserved all the belly rubs he wanted.

But perhaps Twitter user Dee Escalante summed up the situation most succinctly. Along with a string of adoring hearts and laughing emojis, she asked, “Who has who trained???”
