Caring Lunch Lady Surprised by Students After They Find Out About Her Sick Mother

Share

It’s always encouraging to hear stories about people being nice simply to be nice. And, thanks to the “Dude. Be nice” project, more people are reaching out to others across their communities.

“Our mission is to inspire people to treat themselves and others better,” DudeBeNice.com reads.

Not only does the company produce clothing that encourages others to “be nice,” but those behind the positive products and apparel hope to make a change for the better.

“We highlight those who embody the spirit of the world we want to create,” the site says. And that’s exactly what the “DBN Project” is all about.

The website highlights dozens of episodes, all featuring people showing love and kindness within their communities.

One school in Reno, Nevada, wanted to use the project to give back to one very special staff member.

The Bishop Manogue High School students adore their lunch lady, Lynn. “She doesn’t even really know how much we do care about her,” a student shared.

So, they decided to show her exactly how they feel. The students banded together to give Lynn a red carpet experience she would never forget.

One student even dressed in a tuxedo for the occasion, while others lined up, sporting “Dude. Be nice” shirts, with roses in hand. Lynn was then showered with appreciation.

Students came forward as they sang “Be Our Guest,” giving her roses and cheering for their favorite lunch lady. They served Lynn her favorite lunch of barbecue chicken and cornbread, but the love didn’t stop there.

“We love Lynn!” the students cheered. And to show just how much they love her, they even included a final surprise.

A Southwest Airlines gift card for Lynn to go home and see her family in Memphis brought joy to her face. She broke down in tears and began hugging everyone around her.

This woman clearly deserves all the love shown to her and more. The “DBN Project” is certainly spreading the love, and it serves as an inspiration to us all to “be nice” as often as we can.
