Moment Service Dog Senses Owner's Panic Attack Proves How Incredible Dogs Truly Are

Share

Dogs have been trained to do some pretty incredible things. From jumping through hoops on talent shows to saving their owner’s lives, dogs have proven how smart they truly are.

Many people depend on dogs to get through the day. Service animals offer a number of benefits to those suffering from disabilities, anxiety, and depression.

For those individuals unable to have a another person by their side 24/7, specially trained canines are a great alternative.

Amber Aquart is a professional dog trainer in Massachusetts. Her business, Pawsitive Development, focuses on “strengthening the canine-human relationship.”

In June, Aquart posted a video to her Pawsitive Development Facebook page. “Today I was asked, ‘Is that a real service dog?’” the caption for the video begins.

Aquart decided to document just how real her service dog, Oakley, is. “One of the many tasks Oakley performs is alerting to anxiety/panic attacks and de-escalating them,” Aquart wrote.

While in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky International Airport, the professional trainer could feel her panic attacks coming.

So she decided to film Oakley in action. This amazing dog’s response to his owner’s need is stunning.

“Sharing this video and these things make me vulnerable,” Aquart explained. “But I’m sharing them with you so you can see how this dog has changed my life.”

Watch as Aquart begins to have an attack. Oakley serves as living proof that a well-trained service dog can make all the difference in someone’s life.

“Oakley helps me every single day,” Aquart shared. “Oakley is always watching and paying attention to me, making sure to help me whenever needed.”

The footage of Oakley comforting Aquart doesn’t lie. Aquart is passionate about her dogs. Her business motto says it all: “Develop a Pawsitive Relationship with your Best Friend.”

Because that’s exactly what dogs are. And Oakley looks like the best friend to have in a scary situation.

“Amber is a very talented and hard working Dog Trainer!” one reviewer on her page shared. It’s thanks to trainers like Aquart that dogs like Oakley are able to help others in similar circumstances.
