Corgi Heartbroken After Her 7 Puppies Die During Birth. Now She's Fostering 2-Week-Old Kitten

Share

Sometimes, the most difficult of circumstances can bring about the most unlikely of relationships.

Take for instance the pairing of a corgi named Irma and the two-week-old kitten she has taken in as one of her own.

Irma suffered a devastating loss when she was pregnant with a litter of seven puppies. As she began to give birth to the puppies, it was clear she was in need of some assistance.

Irma was rushed to the vet by her owner, and the expectant mother was given a cesarean section to make the birthing of her babies easier. Tragically, none of the seven puppies survived.

Irma was heartbroken, to say the least, and began to grieve the loss of her puppies.

But Irma just wasn’t the same after, visibly sad and mournful following the procedure.

Her owner quickly noticed the change in her pup and knew she needed to do something to help cheer Irma up.

The owner soon adopted a new companion for Irma: a two-week-old kitten with matching fur.

As Irma’s owner predicted, the corgi immediately took to the kitten and accepted her role as a mother to the cuddly little furball.

Irma continues to take her responsibilities as a mother seriously, giving the kitten the love and care that only a parent can.

The kitten has taken a liking to Irma too, snuggling and playing with her new mother daily.

Do you think Irma will be a good mother?

Now, the pair rarely leaves one another’s side.

Their owner revealed they are totally inseparable.

Though seemingly unlikely for a cat-and-dog duo, Irma has found the unconditional love that only a parent can have for a child, and her kitten has found a new mother to look up to and love.

Irma’s mood has also improved drastically with the arrival of the kitten, filling the void of loss and sorrow with hope and love.

Their inspiring relationship just goes to show that despite a devastating loss, a mother can find happiness again — even if it is in the most improbable of ways.
