Miracle When Driver Walks Away Unharmed After Plywood Slices Through Her Windshield

Share

Before I had the privilege of writing for Liftable, I got to review movies, and one of the films I reviewed was “Final Destination 2.” A thoroughly unpleasant horror series, the movies were only memorable for the terrible ways they killed off characters.

However, there’s a scene in “Final Destination 2” that has become somewhat famous among cinephiles. It features the film’s actors and actresses trying to survive when the logs on a tractor trailer come unfastened as it hurtles down the interstate.

Cars sped this way and that, but do you want to know the most amazing thing? Scenes like that have actually occurred in real life — and people have walked away utterly unharmed.

Just consider what happened in September 2016. KIRO reported that bystanders in Seattle watched as a Ford Mustang traveling 90 miles per hour in a 35-miles-per-hour zone smashed into a pole.

Burning wreckage rained down as the car split into multiple pieces. The driver’s side seat tore free of the rest of the car while the rest of the vehicle disintegrated into scrap.

“Any possible attempt to describe that crash defies the attempt to describe it,” witness Greg Reid said. “It’s indescribable.”

Still, the driver walked away from the wreckage unharmed.

A 35-year-old woman from Melbourne, Florida, should’ve perished when a piece of plywood flew out of the bed of a pickup truck. Tribune Media Wire reported that the sheet of wood then sailed into the windshield of Rebecca Burgman.

Do you feel safe driving behind trucks carrying large loads?

Burgman had been traveling north on I-95 at the time, according to Florida Today. The plywood entered corner first at the passenger side of her windshield.

Its long side proceeded to slice all the way across to where she was sitting. Amazingly, it didn’t kill Burgman, and the Brevard County Fire Rescue reported that the woman only had minor injuries.

Had the plywood shifted just the smallest amount, though, the story would’ve ended much differently. In fact, it likely would’ve taken Bugman’s head off.

A 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck had reportedly been hauling the plywood, but it had not been properly secured, according to The Tribune Media Wire.

Jaime Riveira, who’d hauled the plywood, got ticketed by police. They fined him for improperly securing his vehicle’s load.

Burgman walked away from the accident, and what a blessing that is. At least one person truly cheated death that day.
