Incredible Trailer for Live-Action Remake of Disney's Classic Film Aladdin Is Here
Walt Disney Studios has taken their most beloved animated classics to the big screen in recent years. From “Cinderella” to “Beauty & the Beast,” Disney lovers anxiously await the day their favorite films will be transformed into live-action remakes.
While many are excited to see what Disney has done with “Dumbo“ — directed by Tim Burton and set to hit theaters in March — I think it’s safe to say we’re all even more excited to take a journey to the “whole new world” of “Aladdin.”
Here’s what we know. According to IMDB, the film releases in the United States on May 24, 2019 — Memorial Day weekend!
A top-notch cast of diverse actors will play out the story of a street rat’s journey to prince-dom and true love. Naomi Scott, who plays Princess Jasmine, tweeted her sentiments about being a part of the production.
Here we go…
I’m honoured and blessed to be a part of this. It’s gonna be fun.#aladdin pic.twitter.com/eNNnUmXIiA— Naomi Scott (@NaomiScott) October 10, 2018
“I’m honoured (sic) and blessed to be a part of this,” she wrote on Twitter. This will be Scott’s first leading role in a blockbuster film.
Included in the cast is our favorite Fresh Prince who will not be playing a prince, but is equally as royal considering he’s just plain awesome.
Will Smith has been cast as the Genie. While one can’t deny the late Robin Williams made this character iconic, and Smith certainly has some big shoes to fill, we think Smith fits the role quite nicely and can’t wait to see what he does with it.

Walt Disney Studios also dropped the official teaser trailer for “Aladdin” on Oct. 11. While it doesn’t give us much, it does whet our appetites and tells us we can, at the very least, expect something epic.
Take a look! The iconic music is chilling, taking us back to a land of Arabian nights, magic lamps and flying carpets.
Now we just have to wait for the official trailer to release so we can see even more! Until then we can only guess what will stay the same and what will be changed.
If Disney continues with its past tradition of revealing an official trailer with the theatrical release of one of its other films, we can guess the longer trailer for “Aladdin” might appear before “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” or “Ralph Breaks the Internet” in November, “Mary Poppins Returns” in December, or with “Dumbo” in March.
For now, take a look at this side by side comparison shared by AMC Theaters on Twitter. Similar but different at the same time!

No matter when it appears, we’re positive the end result will be a beautiful “diamond in the rough.” Even the sinister Jafar (played by Marwan Kenzari in the 2019 film) can’t deny “Aladdin” just might be one of the most anticipated films of 2019.
What is your favorite Disney animated classic? Which one do you hope to see made into a live-action film in the future?
