Photographer Helps Deployed Daddy Touch Pregnant Wife's Belly from Thousands of Miles Away
There is a new and beautiful photo trend spreading across social media. Many photographers have found a way to include deployed military dads in maternity photo shoots.
Just search the hashtag #militarymaternity on Instagram or Facebook and you’ll find them — photos that make the miles seem to dissipate.
Though the distance is long, these sweet photos help couples share in precious memories that will last for years to come.
The results are heartbreaking and stunning at once. Whoever started this idea certainly knew the true meaning of family.
One mother from Deerfield, Wisconsin, wanted a #militarymaternity photo more than anything. Heather Wallace and her husband Kyle are expecting their third child, a baby boy due November 8.
Kyle is deployed and couldn’t be home for the maternity shoot. So Heather asked Kessenich’s Photography if she could create a special split photo showing Kyle with his hand on Heather’s pregnant belly.
“I tried to accomplish this picture for her,” the photographer wrote on Facebook. “… I have never done something like this before, but I did it and it means a lot to her.”
She went on to explain the photo was “not the best.” However, I think you’ll agree it’s the opposite. This photo is quite perfect. In fact, it’s gorgeous!
Heather clearly couldn’t be happier with the outcome, either. “My amazing photographer helped me create this picture,” she wrote on Facebook, expressing her gratitude. “Thank you so much!”
According to WKOW, Kyle has been away from home since May, but is hoping to make it back in time for his son’s birth.
So many military families are separated, and sadly many fathers don’t make it home to be present for their baby’s birth.
It is thanks to photographers such as Angie Kessenich that the ache can be lessened a little and families like the Wallaces have the chance to be together, even if only through Photoshop.
