Stranger Gives Struggling Veteran Check for $5,000, Then Daughter Emerges from Brand New Car

“Grand gestures make for cool videos, but being kind and helping others every day is what it’s all about,” Dave Krosky says.

You might be wondering who Dave Krosky is and why what he has to say is so important. When you hear what this man has done, everything will become clear.

Krosky is just your average furniture business owner living in Las Vegas, Nevada. If you passed this man on the street, you might not take much notice.

But this man has a truly above average heart. A heart with a passion for giving. At the onset of 2018, Krosky had a single goal on his amazing heart.

“Give a stranger a new car,” he wrote on Facebook. Krosky comes from a place of struggling himself. Seven years ago he was on food stamps, trying to get by.

Now that he’s a successful business owner, he decided it was time to pay it forward and make a total stranger’s year.

With the holidays approaching, what better time than to make one man’s season brighter? Ishmael is a single dad who formerly served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

According to a video shared on Storyful, the veteran has been facing a “rough patch.” His car has been repossessed and he’s been sleeping on a friend’s couch.

Somehow, Krosky found Ishmael and heard his heartbreaking story. Having gone through hard times too, the business owner couldn’t wait to give Ishmael a huge surprise.

Watch as Ishmael is brought to Krosky’s warehouse under the pretense of fixing a broken heater. When he’s handed a check with a large number on it, his reaction is everything.

The best part is when his roommate and little girl show up with the new car. Wow! The man’s joy is certainly infectious. What an amazing thing to do.

Krosky’s New Year’s resolution was to show kindness. Maybe we’re not quite in a place where we can purchase someone a brand new car. But we can choose to make it a goal to show love and compassion toward others.

That means something different for everyone, but the outcome is the same — smiles, joy and, for Krosky, dancing on the roof of a semi-truck.
