Susan Boyle Blows Competition Away, Earns Golden Buzzer on 'AGT: The Champions'

If you thought you had to wait until NBC’s summer lineup to enjoy the best talent in America (and around the world), think again.

“America’s Got Talent: The Champions” is an all-new series that showcases those who have competed and come out on top — and some of those who almost did.

These are the amazing acts we loved. The ones who made it far. Some took the crown, others were so close they could taste it. Now they’ll have their chance to compete against the best of the best for a shot at being #1.

While we love seeing fresh faces every season, watching all of our favorites together on one show may just be the best thing that ever happened.

I have some personal hopes and dreams for who we might see on this show, and you probably have yours, too. (Cough, cough — Bring back Merrick Hanna!)

One name that’s become a talent show staple has returned to the stage to grace us with her beautiful voice and inspiring spirit.

Many were shocked when Susan Boyle became the 2009 runner up — not the winner — in “Britain’s Got Talent” Season 3.

Of course, second place didn’t stop this singing sensation from taking the world by storm. “‘Britain’s Got Talent’ absolutely changed my life,” she said.

“Before ‘Britain’s Got Talent,’ people saw me as somebody quite ordinary,” she went on. Now that she’s sold millions of records over the last 20 years, ordinary just isn’t a word anyone could use to describe her.

Extraordinary, is more like it. Even so, she’s remained ever so humble and sweet, which makes us love this Scotland native even more.

When asked by “America’s Got Talent” if she considered herself a champion, Boyle’s touching response was priceless.

“A champion for those who maybe don’t have the confidence to do things,” she said. “For those who maybe don’t have a voice, but ones who people tend to ignore.”

And it’s true. Even Simon said he “can’t think of any other contestant who has defined this show better” than Susan Boyle.

Watch as she makes AGT history, a champion singing “Wild Horses” — The Rolling Stones might even admit… Boyle does this one better.

When Mel. B. hits that Golden Buzzer, all I could say was,” Yes. Yes, yes, yes.” The honor is well-deserved and a long time coming.

Who’s your favorite returning champion? You can catch them all on NBC, Mondays at 8/7 Central Time. Don’t miss your chance to watch these stars rise to the top all over again.
