Mother Sees Image from Kitchen Security Camera That 'Looks Just Like' Deceased Son
Whenever a loved one passes away, those of us left here on Earth might have special ways to honor their memory and help them live on in our hearts.
Count Atlanta resident Jennifer Bryant Hodge, though, saw an image in her kitchen security camera that looked remarkably like her late son.
Like so many in this nation, her son Robbie had gotten hooked on opioids. It was a sad reality that everyone in the family understood, including Hodge herself.
She and Robbie had even started a nonprofit together with a mission to help those fighting various addictions.
Sadly, Robbie was never able to get the proverbial monkey off of his back. One day in 2017, he got hold of some fake Xanax.
Those pills would tragically take his life, and this loss would linger in Hodge’s mind. Yet she had an experience in the opening days of January that brought her comfort.
According to a post she shared on Facebook, Hodge was watching a movie one night with her daughter. Suddenly, her Nest security system started pinging her phone.
She looked down to see the sort of notification no one wants to receive. It read, “Person spotted in Entryway.”
It also included a picture of the intruder, and that picture took Hodge’s breath away.
The snap showed a decidedly male looking figure standing in her kitchen. The figure didn’t just look like any ordinary individual; it looked like her late son.
“When we pulled up the image, this is what we saw,” she said. “For everyone who knows what my son looks like, they know that this looks just like him, beard and all!
“When I went to the kitchen the nest camera was in flip out mode. I thought it was broken, simply a strange night at the Hodge house, to say the least.
“We have no clue what to think about all this but so happy to be able to know my beautiful boy is always with us!”
In another post, Hodge said that the picture was a confirmation of her faith. “I believe strongly in God, and all I can say is God’s got this,” she wrote.
She also added in the comments, “A few weeks ago, I felt like he was letting me know he is happy in heaven.” No matter what exactly has happened, the experience has helped comfort one mother’s hurting heart.
