'This Is Us' Star Makes Live Singing Debut at ACM Awards with Five Female Country Music Stars
We’ve come to know and love Chrissy Metz through her role as Kate Pearson on NBC’s “This Is Us,” but the show only reveals a small piece of who this incredible woman is and all she has to offer.
We learned of her strong faith and how her belief in God might be “uncool” to some, but in the end, it doesn’t sway her from standing firm in Him.
Now we’re looking forward to her all-new faith-based film based on real events. “Breakthrough” hits theaters April 17, 2019.
The soundtrack played during the trailer gives us goosebumps. We can already see what a powerful story this is going to be.
It’s no secret Metz has a killer singing talent that makes her voice soundtrack-worthy. In fact, she’s graced more than one “This Is Us” episode with a stellar vocal performance.
From her performances of “Time After Time” to “Landslide,” we can’t help but smile every time Metz fills our living room screens with her lovely vocals.
Now Metz has taken her voice to the stage in her first live singing performance at the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards.
Her debut put the actress and singer on stage with stars Carrie Underwood, Mickey Guyton, Lauren Alaina and Maddie & Tae, Good Morning America reported.
Metz sang “I’m Standing with You” from the “Breakthrough” soundtrack.
“It was super cool and not just because it’s an incredible story that inspired the song to be written,” Metz told “Good Morning America,” “but (with) these incredible artists who I’ve loved for a long time.”
“I don’t know what it is,” she continued, “but everyone in the country world, everyone’s so supportive and so encouraging. It was really, really special.”

Metz’s fellow singers had some positive things to say about her, too.
“She is so kind and loving and exactly that person that you see on TV,” Guyton told The Associated Press. “She’s that, but like, even that much better.”
As if we needed another reason to love our favorite television triplet. Catch Chrissy Metz in “Breakthrough” and Tuesdays on NBC.
