Dancing Dad Falls to the Ground When Navy Officer Daughter Surprises Him at Church

Share

Who doesn’t love a good surprise, especially the kind of surprise that makes you fall on the floor you’re so blown away from the excitement of it all?

Excitement is precisely what one dad was feeling the moment he received the best surprise in the world: his daughter returning home.

Petty Officer Jadiah Mondy had been serving with the United States Navy, stationed at a base in Japan, according to WAGA-TV. She hadn’t seen her dad, Jerome Mondy, in two years.

Jerome was already dancing for joy at Divine Faith Ministries International in Georgia before he realized his daughter was about to give him an even bigger reason to rejoice.

A video shared on Facebook by Jadiah’s brother, Isaac Mondy, shows the entire heartwarming ordeal. According to Inside Edition, T&T Creative Media is responsible for capturing the reunion on film.

“We surprised my dad with my sister this morning!” Isaac wrote in his post. “She’s been in Japan for the past two years and came home a week early. He didn’t even know he was shouting with his kids lol!”

Watch as this sweet dad dances between his kids.

At first, Jerome is so focused on moving his feet that he doesn’t realize who’s standing next to him — but when he does, his shock at seeing Jadiah quite literally knocks him off his feet.

“It was a great surprise,” Jerome told Inside Edition. “I grabbed and hugged her. I picked her up. When I did get a chance to talk to her, I said, ‘How you got here?”’

It turns out that Jadiah actually arrived a week earlier than expected, just enough time to make this priceless reaction from her dad a forever memory.

Jadiah wrote on Facebook that surprising Jerome was the “best feeling” and that it was “worth it.” The 24-year-old added, “I love you daddy!”

Isaac told Inside Edition that he “was surprised and didn’t think [his dad] was going to fall for real.” Jerome did fall, of course, and I don’t blame him one bit!
