10-Month-Old Baby Overcome with Emotion When Mother Starts To Sing 'My Heart Can't Tell You No'
We all have emotions, though some of us are more prone to crying than others. But crying isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
As Sadness in the Disney/Pixar film “Inside Out” says, “Crying helps me slow down and obsess over the weight of life’s problems.”
One “emotional baby” showed her sensitive side when — at just 10 months old — she broke down in tears over the sound of her mother’s voice.
In a video posted on YouTube by Alain Leroux, the baby girl is first shown with nothing but smiles. But when her mother begins to sing Sara Evans’ rendition of Rod Stewart’s “My Heart Can’t Tell You No,” everything changes.
“She’s was only ten months old when this video was taken,” the video’s caption reads. “Her reaction is priceless!!!!!”
I have to agree. To feel so much emotion at such a young age truly shows the beautiful gift of humanity we’ve been given. Watch as this baby tears up. You may want to grab the tissues if they’re handy.
Watching her sweet reaction gives me goosebumps. She is such a sweetheart and I have a feeling she’s going to grow up knowing what it means to show true empathy.
Her dad filmed her reaction one year later, and this “emotional baby” is still brought to tears watching herself be brought to tears.
When she sticks out her lower lip and says “Awww… Mommy” I nearly lost it. If only we could all show our feelings as well as this little girl does.
Mothers have sung to soothe their children from the beginning of time. What’s interesting is that music may actually “play [an] important role in an infant’s development,” according to Psychology Today.
“Some even hypothesize that singing to your infant is your child’s first language lesson and can prevent language problems later in life,” Kimberly Sena Moore, Ph.D. writes.
Did your parents sing to you as a young child? Do you have young children you soothe with song? What are your thoughts on the idea that singing to your children can help foster their early development?
