Incredible Compilation of Soldiers Being Reunited with Loved Ones Will Pull Your Heartstrings
Graduation is an accomplishment to be praised and celebrated. Whether it’s a graduation from high school, college or even kindergarten, taking the next step up is no small feat.
Which is why, many times, family and friends hail from near and far to witness these momentous occasions known as commencements.
Commencement is a beginning — the start of something new, which makes these ceremonies the perfect time for long-overdue reunions… and it doesn’t get much better than a surprise military reunion, does it?
One of my favorite commencement surprises took place when Army Col. Norman “Chip” Kirby Jr. surprised his daughter Taylor Kirby at her graduation from the University of North Georgia.
Her tears of joy are everything. You can’t fake that kind of deep-felt emotion, and this family clearly has so much to celebrate.
Another perfect commencement took place when Marshall University graduate Claudia Lea was surprised by her father, Army Maj. Brett Lea, on the day she called “the most significant event of her life so far.”
Yes, we love our military reunions. Full of love and laughter and life, no matter the distance, these families have all gone the extra mile to be together when it matters most.
All of these parents and siblings and children who would do anything to be there for such significant occasions have shown what love and family really mean.
Which is why — at this time of year especially — it couldn’t be more perfect to have a compilation of these reunions, all in one place.
Put together by Military Kind and shared by Inside Edition, these moments will warm your heart and remind you of what’s most important.
Do you have a favorite pick yet? From this particular compilation, mine would have to be when Jennifer M. Little walks across the stage but is stopped in her tracks by two uniformed young men who — comments imply — are her military sons.
“Never seen a momma run so fast in heels!” one commenter wrote on the original video posted by Jennifer’s husband, James Little.
However they’re related, their pure joy over seeing one another again is infectious. Here’s to all the graduates and military families, together or apart — our hats are off and our hearts are with you wherever you are.
