Reporter Faces Sarah's Wrath When She Asks "Ridiculous" Question About Trump's Tweet
Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been the press secretary for the Trump administration since July of 2017. That’s long enough for many reporters to know that she doesn’t put up with stupid questions.
Fortunately, for our amusing benefit, not all reporters have learned that lesson.
Last Thursday, one such reporter received the brunt of Sanders’ wrath when she asked about a recent tweet from President Trump. She pressed Sanders on what Trump’s position is regarding Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Amendments Act.
Trump had tweeted:
With that being said, I have personally directed the fix to the unmasking process since taking office and today’s vote is about foreign surveillance of foreign bad guys on foreign land. We need it! Get smart!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 11, 2018
In reference to the tweet, the reporter asked Sanders, “His tweet today was confusing. It was contradictory. It just was. So how are people supposed to trust … that the people representing the president’s position actually are?”
Sanders shot back a fiery response. “I think that the premise of your question is completely ridiculous,” she said, “and shows the lack of knowledge that you have on this process.”
She continued to explain, for what she said was the “10th time” the president’s position on the matter.
“The president supports the 702, but he has some very strong concerns about the FISA program more generally,” she explained. “Again, this is why he put out a memo last week outlining such and why the DNI director put out a new policy this morning. I’m not sure what the confusion is there.”
The reporter, at that point, apparently hadn’t had enough, so she continued to push, asking Sanders if she felt like the president’s comments were confusing.
Wrong question.
Sanders fired back with just one, epic line: “It wasn’t confusing to me. I’m sorry if it was for you.”
Somebody call the burn unit. This reporter is going to need it.

Maybe eventually, in the future, reporters will be a little more cautious about directing dumb questions to Sanders. In the meantime, though, it sure makes for a great day to see liberal reporters having to deal with her.
