"Morning Joe" Bans Guest for Exact Same Position Joe Scarborough Held
In the wake of the tragic shooting last week at a Florida high school, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” panel said that a guest who doesn’t hold their opinions on gun control would not be welcome on the show.
Last week, co-host Mike Brzezinski banned Florida Sen. Marco Rubio from the show until he agrees to support new legislation restricting firearm ownership.
Ironically enough, co-host Joe Scarborough — Brzezinski’s fiance — has changed his stance on gun control over the years, seemingly when it became politically expedient for his career.
Following the mass shooting Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, Scarborough has called Republicans and members of the NRA “useful idiots” and “domestic terrorist enablers” who are complicit in the shooting.
Last Friday, Scarborough said gun manufacturers were “profiting off of children being slaughtered in school,” adding that “it’s not a constitutional right to have assault weapons.”
He was referring to the shooting by confessed gunman Nikolas Cruz, the clearly disturbed 19-year-old who killed 17 defenseless students and staff.
However, Scarborough sang a much different tune in 1994 when he was a congressional candidate in Florida.
“The NRA must elect & support candidates who will view the gun rights issue as a constitutional battle,” Scarborough wrote on a NRA questionnaire at the time, according to The Daily Caller in 2013.
He added: “The Founding Fathers did not give us the 2nd Amendment to protect our rights to shoot ducks. Our constitutional right to bear arms is so we may protect our family in the manner we choose. No compromise!”
That’s odd, since he literally claimed last week that the NRA was profiting off the death of children in the Florida school shooting.
Scarborough is a hypocrite, but it gets worse for the liberal host.
On Sept. 2, 1994, The Daily Caller reported Scarborough defined an assault weapon as “anything the government would fear the people could use to protect their rights.”
The NRA questionnaire documents Scarborough filed can be read here, exposing him as a phony who has altered his views on gun rights to jive with the mainstream media’s position.
Will Mika ban her finance from the show given the fact he clearly held the exact same viewpoint as Rubio — that the U.S. Constitution clearly states individual’s right to bear arms shall never be infringed upon?
Scarborough’s newfound pursuit for gun control aligns perfectly with the liberal media, who have been exploiting the tragic shooting and using the students as pawns to push for gun control measures.
He’s a total sellout, and his hypocrisy is on full display.
