Former Miss USA Contestant Defends Kavanaugh: 'Impeccable Career,' I'd Be Angry Too
As part of an agreement reached Friday to pass the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh out of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the FBI opened up a limited investigation into an accusation of sexual assault from an alleged incident decades ago that had been thrown at Kavanaugh at the last moment.
Rumors began to swirl on Tuesday that the FBI would have a final report ready on Wednesday — it was delivered to the Senate Thursday morning — that would show that there was no corroboration for any of the allegations against Kavanaugh, theoretically clearing the way for a final confirmation vote on the nominee.
Of course, Democrats who incessantly demanded the FBI investigation are now suggesting it will be insufficient, and have once again moved the goalposts with regard to the nominee, shifting from the allegations of sexual misconduct to complaints about his alcohol consumption and temperament, as they took issue with his justifiably fiery response to their besmirching smears at last week’s judiciary committee hearing.
Conservative political strategist Madison Gesiotto, formerly Miss Ohio in the 2014 Miss USA Pageant, joined the co-hosts of “Fox & Friends First” Wednesday morning to discuss the impending release of the FBI report and all that had occurred surrounding Kavanaugh’s embattled nomination up until that point.

As to the Democrats’ shift in focus toward Kavanaugh’s temperament at last week’s hearing, Gesiotto said, “I think it’s ridiculous.”
“Anybody who’s been, as he claims, falsely accused of something like that would be frustrated, they would be angry,” she continued.
“I mean, he’s had an impeccable career, he’s worked extremely hard to reach the level that he has in the judicial world, and I think I would be angry if I was him as well,” added Gesiotto.
As a young woman who’s competed in beauty pageants, it’s a good chance Gesiotto personally knows women who’ve been targeted by inappropriate sexual behavior and misconduct in the past — and has probably run across it herself more than once. Nevertheless, she clearly believes the strenuous denials of the judge over the vague allegations of the accusers.
Furthermore, she is able to place herself in his position of being denied the due process and presumption of innocence that are cornerstones of our nation and society, and is capable of looking beyond Kavanaugh to see the broader implications of how horrible a new reality of “guilty until proven innocent” would truly be.
Speaking of broader implications, Gesiotto also addressed the possible political ramifications of this character assassination effort against Kavanaugh, and suggested both parties will suffer among voters if the smear campaign is successful in derailing and ending Kavanaugh’s nomination.

“From the very beginning we’ve seen Democrats delay and obstruct on this, but what it comes down to is not only Democrats are gonna lose votes in November, but Republicans will lose votes in November, if they don’t confirm Kavanaugh this week,” Gesiotto said.
“Once that FBI report comes out today, and if there’s no additional corroborating evidence — which I don’t anticipate there will be, as many of these witnesses have already submitted statements under penalty of perjury, like (Kavanaugh friend) Mark Judge — then if they don’t confirm him at that point, I can tell you that Republicans across this country are going to be enraged,” she added.
This young woman — who no doubt can empathize with the plight and suffering of women alleged to have been sexually assaulted and harassed — has come out on the side of a man who has been convicted as guilty in the court of public opinion by his ideological opponents and detractors.
It remains to be seen if Kavanaugh will ultimately be confirmed, but if the handful of undecided senators have really given this whole charade the same sort of thought as Gesiotto has, and are capable of seeing things from the perspective of a man falsely accused, then it is quite likely that Kavanaugh will finally be seated on the Supreme Court within a matter of days.
