Ronald Reagan's Eldest Son Sends Urgent Midterm Message to Republicans

Share

With the 2018 midterm elections quickly approaching, the long-anticipated and much-heralded “blue wave” of liberal voters that would sweep Democrats into congressional majorities appears to be rivaled by a “red wave” of Republican voters that will keep the GOP in power in Washington D.C.

But just because some anecdotal evidence and polling suggest that Republicans might survive the Democrat challenge to their majorities in the House and Senate, doesn’t mean that Republican voters can relax or assume all will be well without their participation in the election, as the overall race likely remains incredibly close at the moment and every single vote could prove necessary for a Republican win.

Indeed, this election — and the congressional majorities that will be decided by it — is perhaps as crucial an election as there has ever been. All of the gains made by President Donald Trump and the Republican Congress, not to mention anything else on Trump’s agenda that hasn’t been taken up yet, would be stopped in its tracks and potentially even reversed by a Democrat Party that has no cohesive message or plan for America whatsoever besides obstinate opposition to anything and everything done by Trump.

That seemed to be the crux of the message put forward in a recent op-ed by Michael Reagan, the eldest son of former President Ronald Reagan, who warned that a vote for Democrats in this election was tantamount to a vote against America as we know it.

Reagan wrote of how his once beautiful and proud state of California had essentially been run down and “turned into a s-hole” by virtue of the Democrat’s one-party rule over the state and big cities within the state.

That same sort of fate is what the rest of the nation could expect to experience for themselves if Democrats — who, again, have no real message other than their “deranged hatred” for Trump — were to regain control of Congress.

Reagan viewed the Democrat’s anti-Trump message as highly illogical, and wrote, “To be against Trump means you have to be against lower income taxes, against an economy growing at 4.2 percent, against unemployment being down to 3.6 percent, against more blacks and Latinos working than ever before and against more people getting off food stamps.”

He noted his frustration that the midterm elections had essentially become a referendum on Trump, and wrote that while “you might not like Trump personally or like what he says or tweets,” nevertheless, “Trump’s economic success cannot be denied.”

“Isn’t America better off after his first two years? Isn’t the economy better? Don’t you have more money in your pocket after taxes? A bigger 401(k)? A better job?” Reagan asked.

Do you agree that Democrats winning the midterm elections will cause incredible harm to America?

“The Democrats will try to undo everything Trump has done. Do you realize what will happen if they retake control of the House of Representatives for the next two years? The president won’t be signing Republican legislation, he’ll be vetoing Democrat legislation,” Reagan wrote.

Reagan pointed out how Democrats were able to “peddle their Hate Trump message” because they received so much assistance in that effort from the liberal media who, with the exception of a small handful of conservative-leaning outlets, were all-in on bashing Trump on a daily basis over everything.

The former president’s son closed out his op-ed with a rather simple yet direct message for American voters, one based on undeniable truths if couched in sarcasm … a vote for Democrats in this election will veritably destroy the nation we love so dearly.

“If you want your city to become a homeless hell like San Francisco, vote Democrat. If you want your state to become a fiscal and social wreck like California, vote Democrat,” Reagan wrote.

“If you want to return to a stagnant economy, higher taxes and open our borders to caravans of illegal immigrants from Honduras, vote Democrat,” he added. “Unless you’re dying to know what it’s like to live in Venezuela, you’ll be sorry.”

So there you have it, straight from someone who was born and raised in California and has been a first-hand witness to the destruction of his beloved state at the hands of Democrats over the years.

A vote for Democrats in the midterms is a vote to transform the rest of America into California, which will place our nation one step closer to being transformed into a socialist hellhole like Venezuela, instead of the great economic and military superpower we have been for decades and still should be for decades, if not centuries, to come.
