Hannity, Sen. Graham Show True Character, Demand Due Process for Avenatti
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and Fox News host Sean Hannity proved their consistency Thursday night on “Hannity” by demanding due process and presumption of innocence for Michael Avenatti, the “creepy porn lawyer” who is being accused of domestic abuse.
Avenatti, who previously represented one of the women that made sexual assault accusations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, ironically became embroiled in his own assault controversy on Wednesday night after being arrested for domestic violence.
During Kavanaugh’s confirmation process, the creepy porn lawyer made some comments that he might be regretting now.
“These old white men still don’t understand that assault victims and women deserve respect and to be heard,” Avenatti tweeted late September.
.@realDonaldTrump @LindseyGrahamSC @ChuckGrassley and all of the other GOP misogynists in the US Senate can attack me all they want. I will respond in kind and then some. These old white men still don’t understand that assault victims and women deserve respect and to be heard.

Instead of using Avenatti’s “believe women” philosophy against him, Graham and Hannity took the high road and stood by their principles.
“One of the people that made the most outrageous claims was Michael Avenatti. He’s facing serious charges tonight,” Hannity prefaced on his Fox News show Thursday night.
Hannity went on to explain his belief in due process.
“I believe in due process and the presumption of innocence, especially with serious charges. It has served this country so well and to not be consistent would make me a hypocrite. I am consistent,” he said before asking Graham his thoughts on the situation.
Graham responded by echoing Hannity’s sentiments.
“Now he’s being charged, seems like a credible allegation, but he’s entitled to the presumption of innocence. And I will give him that due,” Graham said. “I’m not out to get Mr. Avenatti by turning the legal system upside down.”
It’s good that conservatives are being consistent and still holding on to the idea of due process.
While conservatives are remaining incredibly consistent, the same cannot be said of the liberals who are either meekly defending Avenatti or remaining radio silent after spending weeks yelling “believe women” during Kavanaugh’s confirmation process.
Avenatti, who is seemingly in denial about his own past, responded to Hannity by claiming he has always believed in due process.
“I have always advocated for due process including with Judge Kavanaugh (we demanded a full and thorough investigation repeatedly). Any claim to the contrary is bogus,” Avenatti said.
Contrary to @foxnews and others, I have always advocated for due process including with Judge Kavanaugh (we demanded a full and thorough investigation repeatedly). Any claim to the contrary is bogus. Many of these “pundits” don’t even know what legal due process is.

However, a simple look through Avenatti’s twitter account will tell a different story about his conduct during the Kavanaugh hearings. Avenatti repeatedly characterized Kavanaugh’s accusers as “victims” without proof.
.@realDonaldTrump @ChuckGrassley @LindseyGrahamSC – Are you three privileged, white men calling my client Julie a liar? How dare you attack a sexual assault victim. She has risked her life to do the right thing. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Your actions are disgraceful.

People that are attacking Ms. Ramirez and Ms. Swetnick for coming forward should be ashamed. They claim these women should have “shut up” and stayed quiet. Apparently assault victims are to blame for the vote. This line of thinking is disgusting & offensive to all survivors.

This Avenatti scandal proved what we already know: Conservatives are principled and liberals are hypocrites.
