Leftists Begin Disgusting Politicization of George HW Bush's Death Just Hours Later
Conservatives, Republicans, liberals and Democrats have largely been respectful in the wake of George H.W. Bush’s death Friday at age 94.
I’m not entirely sure what it says about the state of America in 2018 that it takes the passing of a former president to bring about some modicum of unity, but it’s certainly preferable to the alternative.
But there is one growing sect of America that opted for a different take on Bush’s death, one involves decidedly less decorum.
That group would be leftists. While leftists and liberals have largely been considered one and the same, there are key differences. Take, for example, the issue of free speech.
“I disagree with what you have to say but I will defend to the death your right to say it” is a tenet embraced by liberals. Leftists, meanwhile, seem wholly OK with eliminating any speech with which they disagree.
In that spirit, I won’t call for censorship of these leftist diatribes, but I do want to call attention to how despicable and pathetic they are.
Some leftists seized the opportunity of Bush’s death to posthumously attack his character, which is about as low as it gets.
“H.W. was a (sic) architect of the current situation, where the GOP is completely consumed by right wing nuts,” author and Salon politics writer Amanda Marcotte declared.
There will be a lot of sentimentality about George H.W. Bush, with people casting him as a noble statesman, compared with Trump and with his own son. Do not fall for this.
H.W. was a architect of the current situation, where the GOP is completely consumed by right wing nuts.

Yes, because the immediate aftermath of a man’s death is the perfect time to whine about people whose political ideologies conflict with your own. Marcotte’s Twitter rant raged on for a whopping 12 more posts before ending with this doozy:
“One can draw a straight line from Bush’s 1988 campaign to Trump running on the same macho posturing and racist hysterics.”
One can draw a straight line from Bush’s 1988 campaign to Trump running on the same macho posturing and racist hysterics. Know your history, folks. There’s immense pressure to forget, and you should ask yourself who benefits.

Absolutely pathetic.
As leftists are wont to do, some of them threw out the “racist” label to bash Bush.
George Bush using the legendarily racist Willie Horton ad, was an example on how white supremacists use one Black person as a proxy to represent ALL Black people. They still utilize this policy (will Bill Cosby for example)

That was alleged “anti-racism strategist” Tariq Nasheed whining about the plight of black people by calling Bush a racist. Classy. Sadly, he wasn’t alone:
I refuse to recognize a national holiday in honor of George H.W. Bush, a racist who played off public fear and racism to earn his presidency.

Bush was a racist and ignored the AIDS crisis as thousands died. Never be ashamed to expose someone’s entire legacy.

Another disgusting tactic from the left was to weaponize Bush’s death to attack President Donald Trump. Look, if all you have to blast Trump is another man’s death, you might need a stronger platform to stand on.
Here is Trump jus a few months ago ridiculing George H.W. Bush famous words about a “thousand points of light” which was Bush’s call to promote volunteerism. Trump mocked that idea because for Trump it’s never about sacrifice to help others it’s always about “Trump First.” pic.twitter.com/6o9WETh80Z

George H.W. Bush was the un-Donald Trump. That is one of the clear messages of the tributes that praise Bush’s decency, character, statesmanship, kindness, competence, commitment to public service, & patriotism. We will miss him all the more because we so miss those things now.

I think my tweet below was in good taste because it illustrates the good judgment that U.S. President George H.W. Bush had. Not surprisingly, I am receiving a fair share of snide responses from tRump supporters about my tweet, and I am blocking all of them. https://t.co/ikLsdoHKvl

Hey, here’s a novel idea. How about you let a man actually rest in peace before exhuming the memories of him to attack the current president? It’s truly beyond pathetic to see people bastardize the sanctity of death just to take some cheap shots at the current president.
And hey, I get it. Nobody, including Trump, should be above reproach and criticism. But there’s a right way and a wrong way to do things. Using a person whose body likely isn’t even cold yet to attack Trump is very much the wrong way.
Or the left way. Same difference.
