Watch: Ocasio-Cortez Offers Worst Possible Response After Being Asked About Anti-Semitism
Look, nobody is going to confuse Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with Socrates anytime soon.
Whether she’s absurdly calling to abolish ICE or failing spectacularly to even answer the most rudimentary of government-related questions, Ocasio-Cortez’s track record more than speaks for itself.
But even given those extraordinarily low expectations, Ocasio-Cortez’s latest comments may set an entirely new low for her. That is no small feat.
As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, the demonstrations by the Women’s March that took place all over the country on Saturday were racked with controversy.
Instead of a celebration of womanhood, the event garnered far more headlines for the Women’s March organization’s ties to the notoriously anti-Semitic Linda Sarsour.
In short, it would’ve been bad enough had Ocasio-Cortez simply been spotted at the march in New York, given the controversy surrounding it and Ocasio-Cortez’s own preference for identity politics.
Naturally, it’s a bad idea, so she was there.
But somehow, in a manner in which leftists seem to have mastered, Ocasio-Cortez took the bad and made it so much worse.
Ocasio-Cortez was approached by CNN and asked about anti-Semitism controversy surrounding the marches. To say that she seemed woefully unprepared for such a question would be a drastic understatement.

“What would you say to some of those people who have concerns about anti-Semitism within the Women’s March group?” CNN’s Jason Carroll asked her.
It’s at this point that Ocasio-Cortez could’ve given some empty platitude or stock response along the lines of how antisemitism doesn’t align with what most of these women were marching for. It would’ve been a fairly meaningless, if harmless, gesture.
Instead, she promptly stuck her foot in her mouth. After saying she wants discussions of anti-Semitism to be more centered, she launched a completely unrelated and unprovoked attack on the Trump White House.
“I think that concerns of anti-Semitism with the current administration in the White House are absolutely valid and we need to make sure that we are protecting the Jewish community and all those that feel vulnerable in this moment,” she said, not answering CNN’s question at all.
“As it pertains to today, it’s so important to recognize why all these women are coming together,” she continued. “The reason all of these people are coming together is to make sure the rights of women are protected and advanced.”
Funny. I wonder how she feels about people like Sarsour and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan not wanting to protect or advance the rights of Jewish people.
Ocasio-Cortez then said how sure she was that the New Yorkers there were attending in the “spirit” of advancing women’s rights and not in “the other spirit,” which is presumably anti-Semitism.
To recap: Ocasio-Cortez deflected blame and aimlessly attacked the Trump administration, didn’t actually denounce anti-Semitism and could barely even bring herself to say the word “anti-Semitism.”
Answers don’t get much worse than that.
Conservative Tribune reached out to Ocasio-Cortez for comment on the video. Neither she nor her team responded early Sunday afternoon.
