Rep. Ilhan Omar Openly Sided with Wildly Racist 'Black Israelites' Tormenting Covington Kids

Share

Rep. Ilhan Omar is famous among liberals for being one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress, but the rest of America may better recognize her through the vitriolic and hateful tweets she has a history of posting.

In one infamous example from November, Omar called upon “Allah” to awaken the world to the evils of Israel’s hypnotism.

Although Omar confirmed in a later tweet that she may have been a bit “befuddled,” her original tweet remains up.

Despite the viciousness of that tweet, it pales in comparison to a now-deleted Twitter post regarding the Covington Catholic High School boys.

In the Tuesday post, which can be accessed through the Internet Archive, Omar laid out debunked claims and even a few outright lies. Coming days after the full video made headline news, this casts serious doubt on her ability to make fair and fact-based judgments as a lawmaker for our country.

“The boys were protesting a woman’s right to choose & yelled ‘it’s not rape if you enjoy it,'” Omar first claimed.

The boys from Covington Catholic, a Kentucky high school, were in Washington for the March for Life. When the events in the video happened, they were waiting for a bus, not “protesting a woman’s right to choose.”

Does Rep. Ilhan Omar reflect the modern Democratic Party?

The rape comment can be heard in a separate video, but there appears to be nothing linking the person saying it to the students involved in the confrontation with Native American Nathan Phillips.

“They were taunting 5 Black men,” Omar follows up, “before they surrounded Phillips and led racist chants.”

This is demonstrably false. The black men supposedly being taunted appear to be members of a Black Hebrew Israelite sect, which even the leftists at Southern Poverty Law Center consider a hate group. The group believes that American blacks are one of the missing tribes of Israel, and wholeheartedly subscribes to racial superiority.

It can easily be seen in videos taken of the encounter that the Black Israelites, not the Covington boys, spewed hate and taunts. Racial slurs, homophobic language, and a healthy dose of curse words were hurled at the crowd of high school kids.

Considering how Omar is a liberal star, it makes one wonder why she chose such an anti-gay and hateful group to lionize.

Video also clearly shows Phillips aggressively approached the Covington boys, not the other way around. Omar is virtually guaranteed to have been exposed to this truth, considering her post came days after the clip was widely spread throughout social media.

After the media firestorm, journalists were more careful about showing Phillips’ approach in subsequent videos.

“Sandmann’s family hired a right wing PR firm to write his non-apology,” Omar finally claimed.

Although this one is true (the family hired RunSwitch PR, according to the Louisville Courier Journal), it’s hardly a negative point.

Considering journalists, media personalities, and even our nation’s lawmakers were spreading false information about the Covington boys that resulted in death threats and a school closing, this was a necessary step.

Omar eventually deleted her tweet after a wave of backlash, but it’s worth noting that she had not apologized for it on Wednesday.

The fact that she even posted it in the first place should have every American concerned.
