Dan Crenshaw Explodes After Media Pushes 3 Anti-Christian Stories in 7 Days

Share

Republican Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a rising star on the right, called out the left-wing media on Twitter over four major failures in just the past week, three of which the congressmen described as “fundamentally anti-Christian.”

“Media blunders this week: -hardly any coverage of #MarchforLife -Buzzfeed lies about Cohen case -slandering Covington Catholic students over false narrative -slandering Karen Pence for working at Christian school,” he tweeted Tuesday. “3 out of 4 are fundamentally anti-Christian. Just last 7 days.”

The annual March for Life, a pro-life and anti-abortion event, is routinely ignored by the mainstream media, despite hundreds of thousands of people turning out every year to march in support of the life of the unborn. The Media Research Center reported that the media devoted 15 times more coverage to the anti-Trump Women’s March that took place the day after the March for Life, despite a huge difference in the size of the crowds that turned out for those respective events.

Then there was the encounter between MAGA hat-wearing Covington Catholic school boys and a Native American activist, which resulted in a media-fueled hate mob on social media that slandered and targeted the teenagers as the worst sort of white privileged racists who deserved to be assaulted or even killed. It didn’t matter when the facts came out and debunked the entire narrative — they were still white, male Catholics who supported the president, and that was bad enough.

There were also the blatant anti-Christian attacks against second lady Karen Pence, who had the audacity to accept a job at a private Christian school that — surprise, surprise — requires employees, teachers and students to abide by the fundamental precepts of the Christian faith, as any other private school of any other religion would also do.

Crenshaw himself was asked to further expound upon his tweet during an appearance Thursday morning on “Fox & Friends.”

“This started with the March for Life, and aside from Fox News, March for Life doesn’t get a whole lot of coverage, even though there is hundreds of thousands of people coming out in a positive, optimistic way,” the congressman said.

I was there. This was really a great march, a great group of people, didn’t really get a lot of coverage,” Crenshaw continued. “But what did get coverage was the Covington high school students that you were reporting on earlier. That story has been thoroughly debunked, yet the mainstream media resorted to complete outrage culture — in stride, altogether, let’s hate these kids, let’s demean these kids — it was so wrong, it was so painful to watch.”

“Right before that Karen Pence had been attacked for just teaching at a Christian school. We’ve seen in the past couple months, Democrats, senators, tearing apart judicial nominees because of their Christian faith. This is an ongoing crisis and it’s not right and I think we should be speaking out against it,” he added.

(Crenshaw’s commentary about the media’s persecution of Christians can be seen between the 15:05 and 16:10 mark of the video clip.)

Rep. Crenshaw is absolutely right to call out the media for their increasingly blatant and fervent anti-Christian bias, which has been evident in far more stories over the past few years than just these examples from the past week.

Our nation’s fundamental and foundational right to freedom of religion is under assault like never before.
