Trump Mulls Plan to 'Intercede' in California After Homelessness Spirals Out of Control
If you haven’t seen any recent pictures of the homeless problem currently plaguing states like California, you might not realize that in one of America’s wealthiest states, thousands of people are living in utter filth.
Politics aside, there’s absolutely zero excuse as to why American citizens are living in what looks like a refugee camp scene from a post-apocalyptic Hollywood flick — but worse.
It’s really that bad.
President Donald Trump sat down recently with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson — who has extensively covered California’s homeless epidemic — and made it clear that he was well aware of the situation. He also suggested that his administration was prepared to intervene.
According to Fox News, homelessness over the past year jumped a startling 12 percent in Los Angeles County alone.

“It’s disgraceful. … I’m looking at it very seriously,” Trump told Carlson.
“We’re doing some other things that you probably noticed like some of the very important things that we’re doing now. But we’re looking at it very seriously because you can’t do that.”
The president wasn’t specific about his administration’s potential plans to rectify the situation, but he stated that he didn’t want world leaders driving down American roads witnessing such filth and chaos.
“They can’t be looking at scenes like you see in Los Angeles and San Francisco. San Francisco… so we’re looking at it very seriously. We may intercede. We may do something to get that whole thing cleaned up. It’s inappropriate.”
Trump touched on the mental health aspect of the growing homeless problem, explaining that many of them don’t even realize that they’re living in such conditions.
“Some of them have mental problems where they don’t even know they’re living that way,” he said.
“In fact, perhaps they like living that way. They can’t do that. We cannot ruin our cities.”
Trump also mentioned the relatively unknown, yet highly disturbing side effect of the homeless situation on local law enforcement.
“You can’t have what’s happening — where police officers are getting sick just by walking the beat. I mean, they’re getting actually very sick, where people are getting sick, where the people living there are living in hell, too,” Trump explained.
While it’s unpleasant to discuss, presumably part of the reason cops are getting sick is because of the unbelievable amount of feces, rats and other hazards that litter the streets.
It’s truly difficult to accept that something like this is happening in what’s otherwise the greatest country on the planet.
Obviously, the state of California has had a great deal of time to deal with and correct the out-of-control issue, but it hasn’t made any noticeable headway whatsoever.
Trump made it clear that liberal politicians have only exacerbated the issue and that he’s doing everything he can to fight them.
“And this is the liberal establishment. This is what I’m fighting,” he added. “They — I don’t know if they’re afraid of votes. I don’t know if they really believe that this should be taking place. But it’s a terrible thing that’s taking place.”
“You know, I had a situation when I first became president, we had certain areas of Washington, D.C. where that was starting to happen, and I ended it very quickly.”
While conservatives rarely call upon the government to fix something, this insane situation — which belongs in a third-world country — probably needs serious government-level intervention.
I’m confident in saying that much of Trump’s base would probably be fine with the president stepping in to clean things up, since the state of California has failed to do so.
A move like that would highlight Trump’s ability to get things done and would put liberal California politicians to shame in the process.
