Border Patrol Union Pres Blasts Clinton for Helping Illegals Skirt Deportation
When Hillary Clinton posted legal advice Thursday to illegal aliens on how to avoid capture, it was a perfect example of why the U.S. Border Patrol endorsed Donald Trump for president.
For a woman who once competed for the honor of swearing to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution,” her latest action was a slap in the face to the law itself.
And the leader of the Border Patrol union was infuriated.
“I’m amazed that somebody that ran for president of the United States — that was willing to promise to uphold the laws of the United States, the Constitution of the United States — is now actively helping people avoid justice,” Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, told “Fox & Friends” on Friday.
Judd’s reaction is understandable. Widely publicized raids planned against illegal immigrants this weekend are – no matter what liberals might claim – not some street-sweeping roundup reminiscent of Nazi-occupied Europe.
These are cases where the judicial process has already run its course, Judd said.
“These people have already been ordered deported. They’ve already exhausted all of their appeals processes through the court system. They’re not supposed to be here. They’re illegally here, and she’s now helping them to continue to break the law,” he said.
Clinton’s Twitter post was bad enough.
The fact that she did it in a language she knows most Americans can’t read just made it worse.

Clinton’s advice included:
- “Don’t open the door,” with a reminder that agents can only enter a home if they are armed with a warrant or if they are allowed in.
- “Remain silent” – even illegal aliens are covered by the Fifth Amendment.
- And “don’t sign anything” and “record and report everything” – along with a phone number to the United We Dream immigrants’ advocacy group (which also published the tips in English, ironically enough).
Even by Clinton standards, it was breathtakingly brazen.
In her defense attorney days, of course, Clinton had no compunctions about using the law to benefit people she knew were guilty. (Her infamous, laughing defense of accused rapist Thomas Alfred Taylor – in 1975, when she was still Hillary Rodham – has been acknowledged even by the liberal leaners at FactCheck.org.)
But that’s a different matter. Defense attorneys are obligated to defend their clients no matter what their personal feelings – and those clients are still innocent legally.
As Judd pointed out, the targets of this weekend’s activities have been through the system already.
They’ve had their due process and were found to be not welcome on American soil.
And that’s a point some Twitter users made in response to Clinton’s tweet:
So illegal immigrants who have received final orders of deportation should barricade themselves and have a plan to fight back.

Talk about obstruction of justice! This is despicable lawlessness! But then, who is surprised!! We have laws for a reason, and we will enforce those laws Madam Clinton! @HillaryClinton #StandWithIce @realDonaldTrump @POTUS @WhiteHouse @TheJusticeDept @CBP

“I don’t understand how the Left continues to move further and further left to what the American public wants,” Judd told “Fox & Friends.”
In March 2016, the National Border Patrol Council issued its first-ever endorsement for a presidential contender in a primary — because its members knew Trump was serious about enforcing American immigration law.
Clinton’s tweet Thursday is one more reason Americans have to be grateful that when the dawn broke on Nov. 9, 2016, Hillary Clinton was not president-elect of the United States – and Donald Trump was.
If liberals such as Clinton keep going like this, Americans are going to wake up on Nov. 4, 2020, to learn Trump is going to be the president for the next four years, too.
