Adorable Little Boy Has Cutest Reaction to Dad's 'Magic Trick' at Breakfast
“And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’”
These are the words of Jesus from Matthew 18:3. In a culture where our children are often told to “grow up” or “act like an adult,” the bigger picture of becoming like a child can often be lost.
This isn’t to say we shouldn’t teach our children or discipline them or “train them up in the way they should go,” but we as parents can also learn a valuable lesson if we only take the time to see our children’s hearts.
They have such a pure belief and trust in us as their caregivers and providers. If we say something is true, generally young children won’t question that it is.
If we tell them Santa Claus is real or that fairies really do exist, they’ll look at us with big bright eyes full of wonder.
The wonder goes away eventually as they get older, which is why it’s so important to cherish every moment we have with their young minds full of childlike faith.
It was the great author C.S. Lewis who said, “When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so.”
“Now that I am fifty, I read them openly,” he said. “When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
One dad captured the pure bliss of his little boy’s wholehearted belief in his ability to perform a magic trick at the breakfast table.
“This made my morning,” CBS News Correspondent David Begnaud shared on Twitter. “This is Jude. He’s 3.”
“His dad, Mike, a friend of mine, is always posting the most adorable family videos,” Begnaud continued. “This one made my heart smile. Enjoy.”
The video shows little Jude sitting before a bottle of empty pancake syrup. Watch as he closes his eyes and soon finds the bottle transform before him.

Begnaud shared some words from Jude’s mom in the comments.
“Jude’s mamma just told me: ‘He still can’t believe Daddy did that. He said, it’s not the syrup that’s magic, it’s daddy!'”
What a sweet little heart this boy has. Everyone needs faith like this child. He trusts his daddy so completely, just like we as Christians have a much bigger “daddy” in whom we place our faith.
