After Mom Collapses on Walk & Suffers Seizure, 3-Yr-Old Runs Across Neighborhood To Save Her Life

Share

What would you do in an emergency situation? Would you panic?

Or, would you keep your cool and call for help? Would you remain calm, knowing just what to do within the first moment of a crisis?

Many of us would like to claim we’d stay collected. Unfortunately, some of us have dealt with such a situation in the past, so we know exactly how we would act.

Then again, we’re also adults. Now, ask yourself those questions again — except you’re barely even old enough to read.

In an amazing story of bravery and quick-thinking, one little girl from Warren, Michigan, has become a local superhero. Oh, and she’s only 3-years-old.

Savannah Lavely may look like a typical preschooler. But this girl is nothing short of astounding.

Recently, Savannah was on a walk around her neighborhood with her mom, Jessa, and their dog. They were only half a block away from the Lavely family’s home when Jessa noticed something wasn’t right.

“I have a history of seizures, so I felt a little off,” Jessa commented. When a seizure caused her to fall to the ground, her daughter sprung into action.

With zero guidance or help from a neighbor, or even their dog, Savannah ran by herself back to her house. She even had to cross a street to get there.

A security camera on the family’s front porch caught the entire thing. The video shows Savnnah running up the driveway, pounding on the door, and calling inside for help.

Thankfully, her grandparents were inside and came to the door immediately, while Savannah’s dad, Steven, watched from a security app on his phone.

“I opened the door and there she was,” Jan Fleming, Savannah’s grandmother, explained. “She said, ‘You need to come quickly. My mommy fell and she can’t get up,'”

If Savannah hadn’t run for help when she did, there’s no telling what may have happened to her mom. “She’s only 3,” Jessa said, sharing her shock at her young daughter’s quick-thinking.

This story is both heartwarming and sobering, and serves as a good reminder for all parents. We need to teach our children how to react in an emergency — you never know what might happen, or what a difference it could make when a child is aware of a few simple, lifesaving skills.
