Age 12 Relative of Elvis Might Have the Best Singing Voice of Any Presley, Ever!
Lauren Marie Presley was a young girl making her debut in the musical world back in 2012. Did Lauren’s last name look familiar to you?
Then you’re likely thinking of the legend Elvis Presley. Yes, they are related!
They also share a talent for music. Even at the young age of 12, this young Presley had great maturity in her voice.
On April 21, 2012, she posted a YouTube video that now has over 4.6 million views. In this video she sang “A Little Bit Stronger” by Sarah Evans.
You won’t believe the person creating this sound was only 12 years old at the time of the recording. I think it’s safe to assume Elvis would have been proud.
This stunning rendition of Evans’ “A Little Bit Stronger” was by far her most popular upload compared to the other two videos on her official YouTube channel. Her time in the spotlight wasn’t limited to YouTube, however.
Presley was featured on Lifetime’s reality television show Chasing Nashville in 2013. One of her most recent pursuits based on her YouTube channel is vying for a spot on The Voice.
She uploaded a video in December 2017 for the show’s “Beat the Crowd” audition. Presley may be chasing Nashville and the experience of being on The Voice, but she has also chased after the chance to be a light in the midst of tragedy.
In response to the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, Presley wrote on Facebook, “We can be that light during this dark time. My heart is with the victims and their families of the Vegas shooting.”
The song that accompanied that caption is the beautiful song “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” by Hillsong United.
Whether she’s a 12-year-old singing country tunes or a young woman singing worship songs, she’s clearly got talent.
Elvis Presley was well-known for his musical talent, but he also had another surprising revelation to share with his fans. At one show, people were chanting and celebrating him and saying he was the king.
“What honey? What is that? It’s a sign, but I can’t see it,” he said of a woman in the crowd. “Wait a minute. Oh, thank you darlin’. Thank you very much. Oh, thank you. The thought is beautiful dear, and I love you for it.”
“But I haven’t been caught up in this thing. I can’t accept this Kingship because to me there only one, which is Christ.”
What an honest and courageous thing to say — recognizing his fans’ well-meaning praise but redirecting to focus on the true King.
The gift of singing has stayed alive in the Presley family. Just like her distant relative Elvis, this young woman may just put the Presley name back on top of the music world.
