Alan Jackson Worries Fans After Postponing Shows Due To Illness
Country legend Alan Jackson kicked off his 2019 tour in January. He started his planned year-long tour in Louisville, Kentucky, with concerts scheduled through the seasons.
Sadly, recent shows were postponed at the last minute due to some health issues the 60-year-old icon is facing, The Oklahoman reported.
In August of 2018, Jackson was absent from the ACM Honors awards ceremony. His daughter, Mattie Jackson Selecman, accepted the award on his behalf.
At the time, Jackson posted a thank you and apology for his absence on Instagram. “Just want to thank everybody at the ACMs for honoring me,” he wrote at the time.
“Special thanks to my daughter Mattie who accepted for me,” he continued. “And most of all thank you to all my fans for their prayers and well wishes as I continue to recover from a respiratory infection. I’m on the mend and will be back to normal soon!”
Now Jackson is suffering from an another upper respiratory infection. The “It’s Five O’ Clock Somewhere” singer had to cancel his April 12 Oklahoma City concert, as well as his April 13 concert in Omaha due to the illness, according to KTIC.
According to News 9, “Jackson said he doesn’t want to disappoint his fans with a performance that’s less than 100%.”
Jackson’s website shows the Omaha concert has been rescheduled for September 13 and his Oklahoma City concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 14. Hopefully he will be in full health for the remainder of his tour and the new concert dates.
“Alan Jackson has been celebrating and telling real-life stories in his music since arriving on the scene in 1989,” a press release on the star’s site reads.
“His concerts are filled with three decades of hits that have gained him legions of longtime fans,” the release continues. “Songs that draw added crowds as a younger generation discovers his music.”
We are saying a prayer for Alan Jackson, hoping to hear news of his quick recovery very soon. Until then we’ll be listening to his classics on our local country radio station.
