Arrest Warrant Issued for Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s Undefeated Top Protege - Report
Police in Fairfax County, Virginia, have issued an arrest warrant for boxer Gervonta Davis, TMZ Sports reported Tuesday.
The warrant is related to allegations that Davis assaulted a man at an ATM at a high-end mall in Fairfax County on Feb. 17, TMZ reported, citing police as the source.
TMZ broke the story about the altercation on Feb. 25.
“Cops say Davis assaulted the guy … and when officers arrived at the scene to investigate — Davis ‘directed derogatory and offensive language at the officers in a public setting,'” TMZ reported.
A witness told TMZ that he saw Davis “shove one of the officers while screaming obscenities … while his friends were desperately trying to restrain him.”

Davis, 24, is 21-0 with 20 knockouts. He is the current WBA super featherweight champion.
He fights for Mayweather Promotions, which is owned by boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr., and he is considered one of Mayweather’s top fighters.
Davis defended his title on Feb. 9 with a first-round TKO of Hugo Ruiz.

Following an investigation of the Feb. 25 incident, Fairfax County police told TMZ, a warrant was issued Davis’ arrest. He is being charged with a misdemeanor count of assault.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $2,500 fine if convicted.
Police told TMZ they have made several attempts to reach Davis to inform him of the warrant but have not been able to reach him.
“We’ll let the judicial system play out,” Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, told ESPN Tuesday.
“Obviously, this is just an allegation,” Ellerbe said. “Again, it just seems odd to me that a black man, allegedly, pushes or shoves — and I’m just reading what the TMZ article says — a police officer and he doesn’t get arrested on the spot, then a couple of weeks later, then they issue an arrest warrant based on their internal investigation.
“That just seems a little odd to me.”
