Bode Miller's Wife Shares Ultrasound of New Baby, Says 'Angel' Sister is Protecting Him
It has been less than six months since Olympian skier Bode Miller and his wife, Morgan Miller, lost their daughter in a tragic drowning incident in a neighbor’s pool.
In the throes of grief, the couple bravely came forward to talk about their 19-month-old daughter Emmy’s tragic ending, and to warn parents about the very real threat of child drowning.
Morgan Miller was pregnant when Emmy passed away.
She and Bode welcomed a son on Oct. 5, a milestone day of celebration tinted with the heartbreaking sorrow of Emmy’s passing.
About a month after her son’s birth, Morgan posted an ultrasound photo of her unborn baby, which was taken only five days after Emmy died.
Reflecting on the image, which clearly shows her newborn’s face, Morgan noticed another image that she said resembled an angel.
“He looked so much like my other babies, just like Bode with that sweet nose and those full lips,” Morgan wrote.
“But as quickly as I saw this new baby, my eyes moved to the angel lying to the right of his face, holding him, arms around his neck. Almost as if to say, ‘It’s okay. I’m here.”’
Morgan won’t get to watch the siblings grow up together as her heart had envisioned.
But she believes her son will still feel a special bond with the sibling he didn’t get to meet.
“I hold onto this picture as a clear sign that my son knows his sister,” Morgan wrote.
“That my baby girl Emmy is still with us. And now that our sweet baby boy is here earth side, he now holds her.”
