Boyfriend Shaves Half Her Head and Beats Her Bloody, So She Goes to Salon for Makeover

Share

It is unfathomable that some humans can be so cruel to other humans. Under the influence of alcohol or drugs or not, there is never an excuse for violence against an innocent life.

In December 2017, 22-year-old Michael D. Truskauskas brutally assaulted his girlfriend, 21-year-old Chelsea Damboise.

The Register Citizen reported that Truskauskas threatened Damboise with a knife and shaved half of her hair off.

Damboise wrote about the ordeal on her GoFundMe campaign page. “I have never felt so lost in what to do with myself and the only thing now I really know… to do is rebuild and start… new,” she explained.

And start new, she did. The young woman decided not to let what Truskauskas did get the best of her.

Although he tried to take her out, this man could not squash this strong girl’s spirit. Damboise headed to see Andy Mendoza at Factory Fresh Barbershop in Bristol, Connecticut.

“I received a visit from a beautiful soul who went through an awful experience,” Mendoza shared on Instagram. “A coward tried to take her life and in the process cut and pulled her hair out!”

Mendoza went on to explain how he got to know Damboise during their makeover session. With her permission, the talented barber shared the before and after photos on social media.

The results are quite something. It’s clear she went through a major ordeal. Scroll through Mendoza’s Instagram post to see Damboise before and after her makeover.

Wow! Mendoza even gave her a cool design to increase the rock star effect. She looks amazing, but what’s even more amazing than the outside is the strength she carries within.

“My goal in life now is to train and become the best that I can be physically and technically,” Damboise said on GoFundMe. “Especially the drive I have found after experiencing this close to death situation.”

She is truly an inspiring young woman. Mendoza also urged anyone who’s been through something similar to “speak up and tell someone.”

Domestic violence is, unfortunately, an everyday reality for some. But it doesn’t need to be. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

If you or someone you know is a victim of abuse, the hotline can be reached at 1-800-799-7233. Don’t wait until it’s too late to speak up and save a life, especially if that life is your own.
