Die-Hard Braves Fan Celebrates Chipper Jones Induction into HOF with His Very Own Beer
As sports fans, we all have favorite players. We watch all of their games. We buy jerseys with their names and numbers on them.
And now, we can literally raise a glass in their honor.
It’s a huge weekend for Chipper Jones, as the legendary Braves third baseman is inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
It’s always hot and sticky for the ceremony at Cooperstown, but soon Atlanta fans can cool off with their hero.
We're excited to finally talk about something that's been brewing! We teamed up with Chipper Jones to brew a Kolsch beer with Spike, first at the ATL Brew Lab (tapping in the Terrapin Taproom July 27th) and we'll be releasing cans from the brewery in Athens in mid-August! pic.twitter.com/YnzklCg5jH

Yup, that’s right, Chipper Jones beer is going public. Atlanta-based beer company Terrapin has partnered with Jones to create the perfect way to quench your thirst.
Terrapin brewmaster Spike Buckowski invited Jones to work with him in the Terrapin Atlanta Brew Lab inside the Braves’ own SunTrust Park to develop the Kölsch-style beer.
“I’ve been looking for different ways to thank Braves fans for all of their support of me during my playing days,” Jones told CBS Sports. “Brewing a commemorative beer with Spike and the Terrapin team was an absolute no-brainer.
“We’re also brewing this at the ballpark that’s home to the Braves,” he added. “This makes it even more special.”
Apparently the slugging third baseman was heavily involved in the concept.

The name of the beer is “CJ10,” celebrating the uniform number Jones wore during his 19-year big league career.
“What was great with CJ10 was the whole Terrapin crew wanted me to be part of the process from the very beginning,” Jones said. “I wanted to create a brew that was easy to drink on a hot summer’s day at the ballpark. After looking into different beers, I learned that the Kölsch-style went down easy and you could enjoy a few over nine innings.”
With 4.9 percent alcohol by volume, it shouldn’t, in fact, be too tough for beer-loving fans to enjoy a couple during the course of a game.
“It’s every player’s dream to get into the Hall and when I took the field for the first time as a kid many years ago, I never thought I’d be where I am today,” Jones said.
“I cannot wait to get to Cooperstown and celebrate with all of the fans, as well as toast alongside them with CJ10 in Georgia,” he added.
CJ10 will be sold in commemorative six-packs, so if you really love Chipper Jones, now they’ve got a drink for you.
