Buffalo Bills superstar rips ex-coach completely unprompted
Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy still has a lot of love for his former teammates in Philadelphia, but not for the man who dealt him.
During an appearance Sunday on NFL Network, McCoy took a not-so-subtle shot at his former coach, Chip Kelly.

“I got a lot of love for Philadelphia — not the little, short coach who’s with the kids, where he belongs,” McCoy said.
He was obviously referring to Kelly, who coached in Philly for three seasons from 2013-2015. Kellly was 26-21 in Philly, going 10-6 twice and making the playoffs once.
But he was fired before the final game of the 2015 season with the team a disappointing 6-9.
Kelly went to San Francisco the next year and flamed out there, going 2-14 before he was fired after one season.

In November, Kelly was named the head coach at UCLA, returning to his roots in the college game with “the kids,” as McCoy put it. Kelly coached Oregon from 2007 to 2012.
McCoy had his best years under Kelly in Philadelphia, rushing for an NFL-best 1,607 yards in 2013. He had 1,319 in 2014 before being traded at the end of that season.
Things did not end well in Philly, as McCoy blasted Kelly in a 2015 interview that appeared in ESPN The Magazine where he implied that Kelly made some of his roster decisions based on race.
“The relationship was never really great,” McCoy said. “I feel like I always respected him as a coach. I think that’s the way he runs his team. He wants the full control. You see how fast he got rid of all the good players. Especially all the good black players. He got rid of them the fastest. That’s the truth. There’s a reason. … It’s hard to explain with him. But there’s a reason he got rid of all the black players — the good ones — like that,” said McCoy.
McCoy struggled his first year in Buffalo, missing four games due to injuries. The Bills played at Philadelphia that season, and while McCoy hugged owner Jeffrey Lurie and kissed the Eagles logo at midfield before the game, he did not shake Kelly’s hand.
McCoy has had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons the last two years in Buffalo, leading the Bills to their first playoff appearance in 18 years this past season.

As for what he thinks about his former team taking on the Patriots in Super Bowl LII, McCoy said, “Let my boy ‘big play’ Nick throw the ball,” McCoy said, referring to Eagles quarterback Nick Foles. “I played with Nick . . . and Nick played well. Let him play.”
