When you think of the state of Arizona, what comes to mind? You might picture the desert landscape including abundant cacti and beautiful mountains.

Or perhaps you didn’t picture something quite as pleasant. Living in extreme heat and alongside creepy critters such as scorpions are also factors of life for many Arizonians.

Visitors from out of state or new residents usually have fears about how they’ll survive during an Arizona summer. Running into a rattlesnake is also an understandable fear.

Arizona realtors like Laura Lucky often have experience in calming these fears when working with prospective buyers that are new to the area. Recently, Lucky had out-of-state clients visiting North Scottsdale to look at various properties.

The tour included over 16 houses. No matter how interesting and important touring houses can be for those on the search for their dream home, walking through house after house can become quite repetitive.

However, the state of Arizona definitely left an impression on these visitors during their tour. As Lucky drove the clients around in Scottsdale, there was a moment where she had to suddenly slam her foot on the brake pedal.

A bobcat was close to the car on the sidewalk. Once they got a closer look, they realized the bobcat was in a fight with a rattlesnake.

Talk about quite the introduction to Arizona wildlife! Lucky made sure to explain to her clients that this was not an everyday occurrence.

According to WCMH, she told them, “This is very abnormal. Please don’t be worried, because I swear bobcats are harmless and rattlesnakes you just stay away from and they won’t bother you.”

Even though Lucky reassured her clients, she was thankful they were sitting in the car rather than walking nearby. The safety that came from being in the car allowed Lucky to pull out her camera to record the fascinating battle between the rattlesnake and bobcat.

“The rattlesnake had come up and bit the bobcat on the lip,” Lucky told KSAZ.
