Candace Cameron Bure Begs Fans To Pray During Deadly California Fires
“If you don’t start with [prayer] there’s no power behind it, because God’s the power.” These are the words of an actress who lives out her faith to the fullest.
“God can do anything, change anything — change hearts,” Candace Cameron Bure told The Billy Hallowell Podcast in 2017. “It’s the heart of all of us that needs to be changed and that’s where God needs to get in.”
The “Fuller House” star continues to stand by her belief that prayer is where everything begins. In the midst of the tragic California wildfires, the West Coast native has called for followers to pray with her.
“It’s no joke,” she wrote on Instagram on Nov. 9. “Praying, praying, praying. Please pray with us. We need your prayers.”

At this point, 76 lives have been lost to the Camp Fire in Northern California, according to CBS News. 1,276 people remain unaccounted for.
Thankfully, the fire is reportedly 60 percent contained to date. Still, 149,000 acres have been affected by this devastating disaster.
Bure says she turns to God and the Bible during times like these. Another post on Instagram featured her reading some words from the Book of Psalms. “I needed this word today. Maybe you do to?” she wrote, referencing Psalm 139:1-12.
The Christian actress has also shared a way you can help those affected by the California fires. She shared on Facebook about The Salvation Army’s relief efforts.
“The Salvation Army has ways that you can help the areas affected by the California fires…” she wrote. “They have been serving meals, but are also serving first responders and working with other relief agencies to provide shelter, personal necessities and emotional & spiritual care.”
“For as long as necessary, we will be providing relief and assistance to those affected,” the organization’s donation page reads. “100% of your gift goes toward our disaster relief efforts.”
If you are interested in helping The Salvation Army in their relief efforts, visit their website to learn more or to make a donation.
We will continue to pray alongside Bure and all those suffering because of this tragedy. As Thanksgiving approaches, we are grateful for all the efforts being made to care for those affected.
