He Can't Pick Up Angry Cat, But Watch Her Melt When Real Owner Comes Out

Share

Are you a dog person or a cat person? If you consider yourself the latter, you’re likely familiar with some willful behavior on occasion.

Most folks agree that felines have a strong independent streak. Even the most affectionate mouser just needs some quality “me” time once in a while.

Maybe that’s why a recent social media video is earning so much attention. It was posted on the Amazingly Cat Facebook page and it shows what initially appears to be a simple scenario.

Basically, a man walks toward a beautiful feline sitting outside on the lawn. As he strolls in the cat’s direction, he captures a video of the encounter.

This gentleman feels it’s necessary to explain a few things to anyone watching.

“I have been charged with bringing my girlfriend’s cat back inside,” he says.

But evidently, kitty does not take too kindly to going indoors when she’s told. So the man indicates he’s planning on being extremely polite about the whole thing.

The video footage mainly shows his feet walking across the grassy expanse. They stop when the tips of his black shoes are only a couple of yards away from the cat.

“Allez, Lana,” he says. He appears to be speaking French, and the word “allez” would translate to “come on” or “let’s go,” according to Collins Dictionary.

The cat’s tail swishes back and forth, a bit irritably. She sits stubbornly in one spot and flatly meows.

The beleaguered boyfriend switches to English. “Let’s go inside. Yes, Lana,” he says.

The black shoe tips inch closer and kitty’s growl grows a little more intimidating.

“I dare not touch her right now,” the man says.

Sure enough, it seems like Lana has just about had it with the hospitable coaxing. She lunges at the narrator’s left shoe, though he seems unsurprised.

“You gonna bite my feet?” he asks calmly. Then, respecting kitty’s space, the black shoes move further away.

Lana continues to pounce in their direction anyhow. A gentle tap on her derriere elicits a sudden whirl, a swipe and a slight hissy fit.

Finally, the narrator’s girlfriend comes outside. “Do you see your cat? Do you see this?” the exasperated narrator asks.

But evidently, Lana’s loving mama sees no problem whatsoever. She begins speaking fluently in a foreign language, laughingly leans over and scoops up her sassy feline.

And sure enough, Lana transforms into an absolute pussycat. She even lets her beloved female companion plant an affectionate kiss on her noggin.

“Oh yeah, whatever,” the male narrator says. And all of social media chuckles right along, to the tune of more than 43 thousand views, likes and shares as of Thursday morning.
