Carson Wentz gets matching tattoos with fiancee - '...the way God loves us'
To put it mildly, life has been pretty good for Carson Wentz.
Despite suffering a torn ACL that cut short an MVP-caliber season last year, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback still established himself as a future NFL star more than willing and capable of grabbing the torch from the likes of Tom Brady and Drew Brees.
And despite his not playing in the big game, Wentz’s Eagles still won Super Bowl LII, and the injured star will get sized for a championship ring.
On top of all of that, Wentz opened up about some incredible news just two days after the Super Bowl as he revealed that he became engaged to his girlfriend, Maddie Oberg.
She said YES! And now Maddie and I both got us a ring 💍😎 can’t wait to marry my best friend! God is doing some amazing things and I can’t thank him enough! pic.twitter.com/OPr0kilabh

Millions of dollars, a Super Bowl ring and an engagement? That’s a good time no matter which way you slice it.
And now the happily betrothed couple are getting permanent reminders of their unyielding love for each other, as Wentz revealed on social media.

Both of them got tattoos that read “AGAPE.”
“[It’s the] Greek word for the highest form of love. It’s sacrificial, selfless, and unconditional … the way God loves us,” Wentz explained on his Instagram. “Grateful to have an amazing woman by my side to passionately pursue the Kingdom with!”
For anyone who has even a shred of knowledge as to who Carson Wentz is, it should come as little surprise that he would so proudly wear his Christianity on his forearm.
Through the Carson Wentz A01 Foundation — “A01” stands for “Audience of One,” a reference to serving Jesus — Wentz has done incredible good, including building a sports complex for underprivileged youth in Haiti.
Wentz shared some closer looks of the tattoos on Twitter, while also citing a very poignant and relevant Bible verse.

With plans for his personal life seemingly going smoothly, Wentz can focus more intently on his professional life.
From all indications, Wentz’s knee rehab is going smoothly as he is still targeting a Week 1 return next season. That being said, even if he comes back 150 percent healthy, there is still work for him to do. The 25-year-old superstar improved by leaps and bounds in his second season but can still be erratic with his accuracy and decision-making.
The Super Bowl champion Eagles will kick off the 2018 NFL regular season when they host the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 6.
